Hi guys , newbie on the forum , I ended up finding this forum when searching for my problem and was wondering if somebody can help me .
I’m trying to change service tags and serial on 2 laptops ( changed motherboards on those 2 laptops with another one in stock) . I read online and the only ‘easy’ way to do that is by dumping the eeprom and modifying/rewrite. Up to now , I got my pi with flashrom , i bought the pomona 5252 (because the chip is 16 pin) and got jumper wires. The eeprom is the winbond 25q128bvfg. Now the question , how to I put the wires on the pi ? the diagram is pretty hard to understand from my side , I know i will have to be vigilent with the power cable but can somebody help me on this please ?
@test2try - You will have to google around for “SPI pinouts” for those model numbers
Is this Dell systems? If yes, you can probably use Dell DST CD or tools similar, here’s a package for you (Asset and Asset_A209 are not the same, so try both if one does not work)
