Hi all, I know this thread is a hundred years old in computer years, but I'll it pick up asking if there is a way to modify this XPS L702X laptop new BIOS so it doesn't constantly ask for a battery when it is to be installed? From what I read here there was an A19 BIOS file that was modified years ago but this one that I need to install is also an A19 dated less than a year ago (https://www.dell.com/support/h.../driversdetails?driverid=p5c4t)!!!! What is going on? In any case, there is no way in the known universe (I did try anything and everything, short of playing Dell's game and buying a battery) to install this file if you don't have a battery attached to the laptop. From what I understand, Dell did something to the BIOS file and all the little tricks like: /forceit, execute from DOS of USB stick, /writehdrfile, Dell's own DDDP, etc, etc, etc, are all out the window. I am convinced that may be possible to modify this file is stops looking after me and my computer and let me do what I want to do. I'm attached to a giant UPS anyway fcs! Any ideas?
