finally done!
all commands goes correctly and asked me to reboot
after reboot got in bios load default setting and boot to windows
after that shutdown and remove jumper from FDO
back to run the pc and try to update the me with "FWUpdLcl.exe"
i tried both windows and dos versions and faild
error message: 8193 intel me interface : cannot locate ME device driver
how can i update it ?
What "commands went correctly" please tell me what all exact commands you ran that successfully completed
Run >> Meinfo -verbose
From DOS and take an image of the output (if error, remove -verbose). Copy MEinfo.exe from MEInfo\DOS folder of ME System tools package to USB, then run command
3 commands
I changed the first command bin file name to FD.bin, and the second command bin file name to ME.bin. Without generic
Flashed it from dos
It’s flashed correctly with result 100%
fpt -desc -f FD.bin
fpt -me -f ME.bin
fpt -greset
Later I will put the image of meinfo
Great, that’s good! Now you need to flash main BIOS and hopefully all will be fixed.
make sure you have 7G1_0127_fix_spi.bin on your USB, and leave jumper on, rename to spi.bin and use this command to flash >> FPT.exe -f spi.bin
Then once again run >> FPT.exe -greset
once done, after the greset reboot, remove jumper and test everything. If still not working, order CH341A and SOIC8 Test clip cable on ebay and wait 3-5 weeks for delivery (Or you can pay more $$ for faster shippers on ebay, or find in other amazon like shops etc)
CH341A Flash programmer - https://www.ebay.com/itm/142685058952 = $2.46
SOIC8 test clip cable - https://www.ebay.com/itm/382486015977 = $2.47
Try to flash SPI result with error
Error: faild to disable write protection for the bios space
Unable to perform write operation
Result of meinfo
Meinfo -verbose
Trying to initialize heci…
Error 9250 heci connection to the intel amt PTHI client failed
I wanna thank you very much for your time and wish you all the best
I’m gonna use it like this till I buy new one soon maybe
Thank you again
@KwaShaKos - Jumper must be on when trying to write SPI.bin (Unless you use command >> FPT.exe -bios -f -spi.bin) If still error with that command, and you get similar error with jumper on, just use the stock installer to install latest BIOS again (That is the goal of this flash anyway, since you already rewrote FD and ME)
To run MEInfo do from DOS, and for this jumper must be removed.
i already installed the stock BIOS
It’s running well without any error
but still no way to update ME
Yes, but still issue, so you should redo BIOS region with FPT, in case normal flashing tool is missing something. It’s not running well if you are having issue still. The ME does not need updated, the latest is already flashed in, it needs fixed and that could be on BIOS side too.
I see
Ok, I’m now out of city and when come back I will try it again and come back here with result
While you are out, or anytime, order a flash programmer and test clip cable, it’s cheap but long wait for delivery. Then you never have to worry about BIOS issues again, for any motherboard.
I will buy it sure
Again I tried to flash SPI fix using fpt from dos but not working. Is there any setting in bios I have to change before I can flash it
Or just installing the stock bios is enough after flashed the three commands well from fpt "FD - ME - greset"?
Meinfo not working both jumper on or off neither dos or windows versions
Yes, you can just flash stock BIOS, FPT not needed for reflashing BIOS. YOU can’t flash FD with FPT, it will be locked.
MEinfo will only work once ME is working and healthy, and ME drivers are installed. Jumper must be removed for ME to be functional. Jumper on only when you want to either disable ME, or reflash ME via FPT
You have done all you can for now, stop messing with it before it bricks on you. Wait for programmer, then you can fix
Thank you very much
I mean by "FD ME greset" the three bin files you asked me to flash with fpt with jumper on. The files that I made short name for them
I assumed so, you can flash FD (I think) and ME (For sure) with jumper on. ME will only be functional with jumper removed.
You can flash BIOS region without jumper on, either via FPT or via stock BIOS update package, but probably best to use FPT in case stock package tries to update ME again
