My friends let someone mod his Lenovo Q77 Mobo (IS7XM) to add nvme supported.
He dumped the two bioses(8MB+2MB) in the Mobo by the spi programmer,and someone just modded the 2MB bios and let him flashed it.Finally it ran well with the nvme SSD.

But I was astonished when I saw the 2MB bios with the UEFITOOL and MMtool.

As you can see,when I searched the unicode test “nvme” in the 2MB bios,it show 2 test in the padding.It’s kind of different from Fernando’s tutorial.
How could it add the nvme module in it?
And I couldn`t find any nvme or m2 module in the mmtool when opening the 2MB bios.

Thanks for your request. After having opened the file named 2M with the MMTool and the UEFITool I couldn’t find any DXE Driver Volume.
So I don’t know any option to get the NVMe module automaticly inserted by using any BIOS tool. It may be possible to do it manually by using an Hex Editor, but I wouldn’t even try to do it.
Here is the proof, the the NVMe module has been inserted nevertheless

Btw，I hope to flash it with my method.
But I could dumped bios by AFU.
And although it could be dumped by fpt,I couldn’t be flash and show error 280 “bios protection”.
Even it could be dumped by spi programmer,but how to add the nvme module with the 2MB bios ??(I found the 8MB bios wasn’t an uefi bios)
@gloobox - sorry, I don’t understand what is needed here? Do you need BIOS modified NVME Mod, or it’s already done, and you want confirmation?
If you need NVME Mod, please upload both the 8MB and 2MB BIOS file. I thought that’s what was in your first link above, from your description, but I see that is some 0.006MB jpg image?
If you want me to do NVME Mod, both files must be uploaded, please put in a single zip
