Hello fellow forum members,
I recently soldered an additional SATA port to this motherboard (VA70/VG70 rev.2.1) and the hard drive is only visible in Windows, however i know for the fact that the same board in Acer Aspire V3-731 www acer com/ac/en/US/content/support-product/5488;-;Aspire supports both drives and the second one is labeled HDD1. Is it possible to modify the BIOS so that it has the option to see HDD1 in my motherboard or just straight up flash the V3 BIOS, because i tried that and it didn’t work.
I have access to the CH341a BIOS flasher and can desolder the BIOS chip, i just need someone to build this semi-custom BIOS.
I also have a dump of the main BIOS chip and the chip near the multi controller.
I changed the file type for BIOSES from .bin to .txt the W25Q32BV is from the flash near the multicontroller.
Also added the screenshots of the ME region settings if that is necessary.
If possible i can provide additional BIOS files and if that’s not too much to ask to unlock the advanced features of this mobo, but at this point i feel that this is too much to ask…
Thanks everyone in advance,

Hi!
Mod: VAG70_HC
It was made for version 2.29, but I see that your BIOS is 2.30. It’s ok if you downgrade, but I can make a mod for 2.30 too.
Hello,
Thanks for a quick response, i have checked that laptop and most if not all models feature a discrete graphics card (GT 610 or GT 730). Could that pose a problem? Because mine doesn’t have a discrete graphics chip Would be really nice if you can make a BIOS for 2.30 version
I see your point, but it’s the same boards with the same bios. Moreover, in your dump you can also find the same graphics settings. They are located in a tab inaccessible to the user, so there is usually no problem with this. BUT, we’re going to open them, so for your peace of mind, I selectively froze them for change.
I made one based on files I got from you. It means you can even flash .fd file using HW programmer!
Others should flash it under Windows to save identification data.

Thank you very much, will try later today
Спасибо большое, попробую сегодня вечерком
Hey, tried it but the HDD1 option didn’t show up in the BIOS so i can’t boot from it, but the advanced features option showed up
That’s cool, will try the 1.29 BIOS from packard bell, will see how it appears there and report back
The strange part about it is that i cannot update from within Windows 10, the installer just crashes without the error code, will try also with Win 7
If in main tab HDD1 model name isn’t recognized, it means you can not boot from this drive in any way.
Did you installed 2.30 using HW programmer? I need to know if it is possible that the mod can be flashed by the installer.
Ok got that about the the HDD, and i installed the firmware by preparing the image on the usb using the tool provided in the 1.29 post and the pressed FN+ESC and power button and it flashed
Thanks for the information.
I there anything else I can help you with?
Umm i just checked the advanced features of this mobo and there both HDD and SSD are available
