I’ve been trying to enable Turbo Boost on my A6-9225 processor; the specs say it should hit up to 3 GHz, but I’m getting absolutely nothing—just 2.6 GHz and nothing more. I’m running Arch Linux and have tried pretty much everything—there isn’t even a setting for it in the BIOS—so I’m completely out of ideas.

I really need that 3 GHz boost; the CPU is weak as it is, and playing Dota 2 at 25–30 FPS just isn’t fun.
Does anyone happen to know—or perhaps own the same laptop—whether flashing a modified BIOS version would help? (I don’t have a programmer, I don’t know how to use one, and I don’t have the money for it.)
Please let me know if you need more information.
Nothing to mod here…this is a low spec 2core cpu with low tdp, occasionally during short periods bursts, the CPU will pass the 2.6Ghz on very demanding operations and only if plugged in AC and OS power plan to Performance but most of the time goes back to standard clock.
really? I read something about the UVT, H20UVE, and H20EZE utilities—that you can supposedly change something in the BIOS to get the advertised 3 GHz (I’ve never actually seen the processor hit 3 GHz, not even for a second; I’ve applied loads and monitored it, but it stays at 2.6 GHz with good cooling, whether I’m using Windows or Arch Linux—and yes, that’s while plugged into mains power).
Oh really…from IA bots? Go for it and get a “death” system, since you have no experience at all in mods or recovering a system or having the right tools for it…you don’t have money for it and probably won’t have money to get it repaired or another system, just my advice, for all unexperienced users.
Go read a bit more about those tools and what can be done on each system, when possible, not LOWER systems like yours (What do you expect with a 15w TDP cpu???)…then get a cheap SPI programmer and then you can “play” with it…or not.
It’s not being negative about your request…that’s all, good luck.
