@Sylar76
To add support for Navi one would have to make some changes to the source code. Starting with the version determination. Unfortunately, I’m not that familiar with Python!
I very much hope that the project will continue @lordkag or maybe @plutomaniac !? Or another pro in Python…?

Found a newer GOP for Fermi-based GPUs (GF119), see attachment. DevID is removed/zero’d.

I changed the file-extension to .txt because of restricted format.

Hi all!
I have “NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 GK107”.
I got a problem when I try GOPupd.bat! Here is the URL with .rom file “files. fm/f/apnm9qmp5”

************************ Update EFI GOP

Drop VBIOS file on this .bat

@rediffusion
You could try using GPU-Z to backup rom file first, the rom size is 128Kb.

I tried but no luck!
.rom file has the same 178 kb as previous.

@rediffusion

Colorama not instaled. Use

1
2
3

pip -install colorama

The update does not change the size.

@SoniX

Requirement already satisfied: colorama in c:\programdata\anaconda3\lib\site-packages (0.4.3)

Maybe the problem is in that tick which is only on “Intel(R) HD Graphics”.

Sorry, my friend, you are right. The ROM file size is 178kb. I updated it with software GOPUpd.

GK107_updGOP.rar (122 KB)

@thinking

Old file - 178 kb
Patched file - 167 kb (who knows why)?

Please upload the files or send it to me by PM!

I’ve only just learned of this problem half an hour ago. I’ve been running a GTX 780ti in a Z97 machine for many years in MBR/CSM mode. It’s a hand me down that might be going into a new AMD B550 motherboard soon, and I became aware that NVIDIA cards can sometimes have some issues. I downloaded the tool and made some folders, and have updated the GOP in the rom.

Is this output normal?

Latest available GOP is 0x10038

Do you want to update GOP to 0x10038? Y for yes or N for no: y

EFI is NOT last image!

Fixing ID, last-image-bit and checksum for EFI image.

File “GK110_updGOP.rom” with updated GOP 0x10038 was written!

I assume it is (the EFI is not last image part), but just wanted to double check. I compared them and they seem to match with Image Hash of F42EEB20F730B8700BE7C6D8DA6E7AA for both.

The new GOP of 0x10038 is dated Mar 27 2017, is the benefit of this update that there’s more chance of it working with modern boards? Or since this is 3 years old… there’s still a large chance there will be problems? The frustrating thing is that NVIDIA has an official tool that will patch a GTX750 (and other boards in future generations) but not my GTX 780ti. I tried this tool, hoping that it might make up for the fact that NVIDIA didn’t support this card. Is there a chance, or just wishful thinking?

@Ruin

0Ki-Doki!

I’ve used this version “GOP_Updater_v1.9.6.5.k_mod_v0.4.5” for patching.

UPD:

Now I also checked what shows GPU-Z… Here’s the screen:

@JonW

The update was successful! A new motherboard doesn’t stand in the way :wink:
