The original VBIOS was missing the signature block. In fact, it had no extra special images like newer cards, no NPDS or NPDE structures. It looks more like the old type of images and you were lucky that you had enough space on the chip to flash this updated VBIOS. But given the old structure and no knowledge of NPDE/NPDS structures that are present in the EFI ROM, can you test this card in UEFI environment? GPU-Z only detects the presence of this EFI ROM, but doesn’t check if this EFI ROM is usable or in use.
Strange thing for Nvidia to lock older cards, when nvflash still says it can support them. Maybe it was this version only, maybe it is permanent, I will add this information to first post.
Yes, i am using it now as primary card, UEFI mode, CSM Off, no problems
Thank you for the file. Unfortunately, I have to give credits to someone else, as I already downloaded a few days ago from TPU. I also update to NVFlash 2.227 from Geeks3D. It is only x86, which is good enough for me, but not enough for flashing purpose on x64 systems.
I will release 1.8.2 with these changes:
- request Admin rights on systems with UAC enabled. It will not work properly otherwise.
- updated #ROM_Info to ATIFlash 2.71 from TechPowerUp and Nvidia NVFlash 2.227 from Geeks3D
That’s more thank ok lordkag. I found it at a Gigabyte vBIOS or something and since I don’t check other sites for such updated executables, no problem. At least we find the new good stuff.
You need this Version Nvflash 5.227 64bit, here it comes.
It’s a mod Version (nvflash5.227.zip) with bypass from me, no restrictions, crossflash… feasible, single Card, have no SLI.
Have here 32bit and 64bit orig. nvflash5.227, and with new inforom.exe, is it new or what?
nvflash5.227.zip (969 KB)
NVFLASH.zip (2.69 MB)
In GOPupd I only need x86 NVFlash original, which I already got from Geek3D. But this might be useful for those who want to flash their cards, so I added a link to your post, apart from the one to OCN. The inforom utility is not working as it should, as it is always reporting my graphic card and not the VBIOS file. Apart from that, it seems to be designed for something else than ROM scanning. It might be targeting IFR header only (inforom -> IFR).
Released 1.8.3
- updated GM2xx to 0x2000B. Taken from TPU, released with GTX950. The uncompressed EFI file is smaller than previous version, so be sure to test after flashing.
Nooooooooooooooooooooo! I had almost all the versions updated, only 2 remained. Now you force me to search for all of them. Couldn’t you have found the missing two? What kind of knight are you?
Now that the applause have silenced after my impeccable demonstration of an entrancing humour, we can get to serious discussion. (Humour ended. Sarcasm silenced). Thank you for the files. I checked that repository today and saw the files, queued them for later inspection just to be sure. The changelog mentioned nothing of this, neither did it mentioned as being important. But this proves that no stone can be left unturned.
Released version 1.8.4
- updated GK1xx to 0x10032, thanks to a stranger in shiny armour
- updated GK1xx_MXM to 0x10032, thanks to a stranger in shiny armour
hi im newbbe!
i want to update my zotac gtx 970 with gop so can i simply flash it with gopupd?!
and which is the right rom?!
greetings
I am always amazed how users can find the place where to post, but they act as if the posts from that topic (especially the first one) are invisible to them. No, you can’t use GOPupd for flashing, it wasn’t and never will be my intention to flash your card with GOPupd. No, you don’t need the right ROM, the tool will do it for you, if you RUN it as instructed. No, I won’t help you further until you do some reading.
uhhh ok ok im gonna delete my account so you are not feel bothered of me!
Hey @lordkag for flashing nVidia VBIOS for GeForce 700 series and below, I suggest this version of nvflash: http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/238…65-for-windows/ I currently use it for my GTX 650 Ti and it works perfectly. For GeForce 900 series flashing, I suggest this version of nVflash: http://www.overclock.net/t/1521334/offic…0-980ti-titan-x as JoeDirt’s nVflash removes signature check which enables modded vBIOS to be flashed.
Sorry if this has been posted before, as I might have missed it.
Hi to all, i have a Sapphire ATI HD 6870, i downlonaded the zip but all programs crash; I think that was Windows 10. I attach my bios, can anybody help me to add the GOP? Thanks.
I think the BIOS chip might be too small to fit an additional GOP Driver.
But i see that the Ati 6800 Series are in the list of GOP Updateble.
@zocker
Sure, blame it on me. In the meantime, check the first two posts (they are linked), then read your first post. Is the procedure not written in there, are any of your questions not covered in there, am I the one who lucks the manners? I may not help as much as others here, but there are a few who have obtained my help without been forced to give a single “pretty please”. The difference between me and others is that I have low tolerance for those who abuse my help with tons of unrelated or easy answerable questions, I haze zero tolerance for those who post for the first time without reading the first post(s) and the rules. I won’t go as far as other forums that instruct “use search option”, because a search might give different results based on different keywords. I believe that if you can’t get an answer from first or last posts, you are entitled to write your question(s). Now, if you want to try this again (after reading first and second post), we can forget this ever happened. But if you want to show your character and close your account, then BOO HOO! I hope I’ll be able to sleep tonight.
@rootuser123
That information is on the second post. But you wanted to help, not to ask for help, so there is no problem with that. As a side note, I won’t recommend going with that old version for pre-Maxwell. NVFlash 5.19x should work just as well, the issue is in 5.2xx versions. However, proper support for Win10 was added in 5.2xx, so users should test all the available options, starting with the last one.
@d4v1d3
Was it an error in GOPupd or ATIFlash? Was the error on the screen or the program just closed? Your file is not attached, compress it before uploading or use a public host and post the link. I believe your card has a 128KB chip and enough space for GOP, the only problem would be the presence of a microcode. But GOPupd will inform you of that, plus I need the VBIOS file to check on my own.
@lordkag
After some tests, I solved the problem of start the both programs. I added the GOP, but the bios reached a size of 120 KB instead of 128 KB; I think that is not good for the flash. What is the problem of the presence of microcode? Thank you.
Barts.zip (80.5 KB)
The final size is not important, it just needs to be smaller or equal to chip size. That padding will be discarded anyway by the flasher, but if it makes you feel better, just add padding to equal the dump size. But you do this on your own risk, I’m not responsible for any change you make to the updated file. Your VBIOS has no presence of a microcode, nothing you should worry about.
