Hello
I would like to add Skylake-X and Kabylake-X microcode in UBU, how to do it ?
Thanks
What exactly do you want to update (the driver, the Option ROM or the EFI module = "DXE Driver")?
What is the reason? Are you planning to boot your computer via "Wake-on-LAN"?
I like to have the new modules.
Basically i updated all the modules in my asrock z97 motherboard and all work ok.(both rom and efi)
for lan i use the auto mode update in ubu tool and updated it from uefi 6.1.xxxx to something like 0.17.
I search here and i saw that the 0.xx is better from the older 6.xxx for one nic card.
The only thing i didnt update because i was afraid is the microcode for my haswell 4790.
In bios is 19 and in windows 1e.
I left it as it was.

Hi Guys,
Trying to update my microcodes on a MSI X99A Godlike and confused about wether or not FIT Table needs to be updated to reflect the size changes in the cpu microcodes. I tried to mod the bios file by changing key hex values to allow Ubu operate on it but it woulds stall when trying to update the microcodes. I know how to search and replace microcodes with a hex editor by searching for the header but not sure for X99 if its necessary to update FIT? If so my Fit is in a padding file. Was able to locate it using UefiTool A40 by following the addresses it listed but can’t make sense of the hex values. @Sonix if your listening can I please have help with this?
Thank you
Nevermind I figured it out - searched for FIT downstream of the address revealed in UefiTool A40 in hex editor and there it is…
Thanks
Is there a way to switch a bios from STRICTLY RSTe (the EVGA X79 Dark is strictly RSTe) to RST? It only has OROMs for RSTes to be clear.
@Warboy :
AFAIK it is not possible for the user to switch the DeviceID of the on-board Intel SATA RAID Controller from DEV2826 to DEV2822 by modding the BIOS.
If you want to use a v12 platform Intel RST RAID ROM and Intel RST RAID driver with your DEV_2826 Intel SATA RAID Controller, you may look >here< for the “Especially modified Intel RST(e) RAID ROM v12.9.0.2006 with TRIM in RAID0 for X79 systems” and >here< for the “Modded+signed Intel RST(e) drivers v12.9.4.1000”.
Good luck!
@Fernando :
So its isolated to just 12.9.4.1000 drivers (modified) and how do I inject the modified RAID ROM?
EDIT by Fernando: Fully quoted post replaced by directly addressing (has the same effect, but needs much less space)
No, theoretically you can use any of my mod+signed Intel RST drivers, if you have inserted the matching modded Intel RAID ROM into the BIOS.
Like any other Option ROM module. You can find the related guide within this Forum.
Thanks as usual! Just for Z370 or Z170, too?
To answer this question, we need access to the first v16 platform Intel RST(e) drivers.
Is UBU still in development? Didn’t you see the update?
Only the author of the tool knows the exact answer.
AFAIK SoniX is working on a new UBU branch v1.7, but the usage of the UBU tool is much easier than the development of an UBU version, which works without any AMI UEFI MMTool.
Can anyone tell me where to download the MMTool from? I can’t find the information in the first post.
You have to search for a download link yourself. We are not allowed to post any link to any AMI tool, which has not been released for the public.
I googled and found nothing.
Feel free to send it to me via a message (anyone).
And to see if the file is correct,
