Hello , i hope i will not poluate this thread but i have trouble using this tool , i want to overclock an i3-6100 but the well known microcode does’t let me to do that , so i hear its posible to fix that with this tool , but i really need a tutorial . Curently i am trying to open ubu.exe but “mmtool not found” , any help will be much apreciated
@Firs2 :
Welcome to the Win-RAID Forum!
We are not allowed to offer the tool, but >this< tip may help you.
Regards
Dieter (alias Fernando)
P.S.: I have moved your post into the “UBU Discussion” thread, because the other one is reserved for the Update announcements of the UBU maker SoniX.
So i found mmtool , i download curently bios version ( https://overclocking.guide/download/msi-…on-k-oc-bios-2/ ) and what i got :
After selecting update microcode - https://postimg.org/image/jhakesg7p/
Then after i type 74 it show this : https://postimg.org/image/a9iby3gv9/
i am doing this right ?
According to your pictures everything seems to be fine.
But why it say "error replacing file " in the left side ?
Oh, I haven’t seen that.
Maybe there is not enough space for the replacement?
Let the UBU tool check the modified BIOS and look for the CPU Microcode number.
I dont know how to do that . is this https://s18.postimg.org/vn4d2xs15/image.png or like this https://s18.postimg.org/76m78oh2h/image.png ?
@Firs2 :
Although I am not an expert regarding the update of the CPU Microcode, it seems to me, that the previously chosen Code Nr. 74 dated 05-01-2006 has been successfully inserted.
Should i flash it ?
I recommend to wait until a CPU Microcode expert has done a view onto your linked pictures.
@SoniX :
Thank you very much for the development and release of the new UBU v1.69.6.
We are happy, that your health condition obviously has ameliorated and allows you to continue your work on this phantastic tool.
@all UBU users:
The new UBU v1.69.6 contains a lot of updated tools and even a completely new one named SetDevID, but not yet the recently released newest Option ROM, EFI and CPU Microcode modules.
Please consider, that SoniX is working on a new UBU platform v1.7x, where the procedure of the BIOS module selection and integration may be completely changed. So please be patient and wait until SoniX will present the next UBU release or update.
@Fernando
Thabk You. :))
The next release will be 1.70 alpha. I will gradually introduce changes. While testing new utilities.
PS SetDevID can be useful here Actual PCI ROM modules (not AHCI/RAID related).
@SoniX
First of, happy new year!
Second, I’m very sorry for your health, I hope you can overcome whatever you are going through!
Third.
Any place where we can donate to this amazing proyect? Patreon, Paypal or the like?
@MerolaC :
I have moved your post into this thread, because the other one is reserved for SoniX and his announcements of new UBU versions. SoniX will get notified about your post nevertheless.
Look >here<.
@Fernando Thank you Fernando and sorry for posting it in the wrong place.
I just donated.
I’m also trying to donate to your PayPal, but it’s not working for some reason.
Is there any other link to donate to you?
The PayPal “Donate” button, which is visible at the bottom of all Forum pages, should work.
If not, please send me a PM with the error message you got.
Thanks!
Welcome SoniX! It’s great you got better.
I also have health issues, but of other kind.
I’m in a half-depressive phase and such shit. Mine will get ok. Take care of your eyes and get good habits
Thanks a lot for you comeback!
This is a MSI GE62 2QD Apache Pro laptop (awful ACPI, it hates Linux ).
Here is my BIOS, dumped with awfulwin (I have pretty nicknames for AMI tools).
I was modifing the menu with AmiCTS (Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, because it makes you click and click and click to the infinite…) and suddenly it crashed! I’ll try it later, but it’s disgusting to enable all options by hand
I’ll try tomorrow.
I put here my crap to not forget it, maybe someone can take a look at this mess.
Original manufacturer “bios” is attached too.
I’m still not sure how. But did I dump the nvram?
@Fernando I want to send an small donation, but not sure if sending it to you or @SoniX
Kind regards.
PS: I added both bios, manufacturer website (direct link here) one and my dump.
EDIT by Fernando: Unneeded blank lines removed (for better readability and to save space)
msi ge62 2qd apache pro ACPI tables.zip (34.8 KB)
NvRam.zip (10.9 KB)
pci-ifr-setup.zip (161 KB)
biosesss.zip (3.38 MB)
I am still watching this thread for futher information about my problem with the bios , if someone know let me know
