Wrong place to ask i know. But, are AMD vBIOS GOP’s universal?

Will the included work on mobile APU’s (A10 4600M or A10 5750M)

I have searched everywhere and cant seem to find the answer or an up to date mobile GOP.

Edit: I had a look a couple of pages back, does this mean that i may be able to update the AMD GOP from a laptop with this tool?

Obviously not designed for mobile BIOSes I know

I insert marvell EFI sata driver in UBU… ASROCK x79 fatalty professenal.

The laptop is using a bios version newer than what is listed and when trying to run any software to backup it just gives me a write protected error and exits.

1. UBU package was not created only for use with laptops. All modules are oriented only to work with desktop motherboards and not with laptops.
   2) All modules in the package UBU, designed to update only available in the BIOS. If there are no modules in the BIOS, and you try to integrate both new and there is no guarantee that this update will work. In most cases, this updating does not work.

so i can boot windows 8.1 in CSM disabled
and i can boot OSX in CSM [en]abled

but in CSM disabled… bios can not scan disk connected marvel controller… so bios can not read EFI in sandisk x110.

Is your board ASRock X79 Fatal1ty Pro with latest 3.10 BIOS? Because I see it has an EFI driver named Marvell_9172_9182_DXE that should at least make the controller visible. At first I thought that maybe your board is not fully OSX compatible, but your picture from the next message shows that the Sandisk is missing even in BIOS, so there’s the problem. Not sure if it is easy to fix this on your own. Have you tried to ask Asrock for a beta BIOS with Marvell UEFI support? They usually are helpful.

I can only think of adding the files attached. They come from an Asrock board. But there are some problems:

- the board was a server one. They probably used different sources. The Marvell AHCI and RAID are provided by Marvell, but Marvell9172DXE is provided by AMI.
- it was built on AptioV, while your board is Aptio4. They definitely used different sources. Again, Marvell9172DXE is the question.
- the dependencies from the files might not be satisfied by your board’s UEFI. But, from what I see, Marvell9172DXE follows PciRootBridge and the other two need Marvell9172DXE.
- don’t know if you should replace Marvell_9172_9182_DXE with Marvell9172DXE or add Marvell9172DXE on its own. Maybe try both ways and add each time the other two files.
- the files are uncompressed, so compress them while inserting.

Given the above problems, I can only provide the files and assistance, but there is no way I can guarantee the safety of your hardware. It is your risk.

Guys, I try to help as much as I can, but this is not the way to go. I don’t have a magical crystal to read your hardware. If you don’t know a thing (we are all clueless concerning 99% of the things surrounding us), then try to add as much related details as possible. This is what I had to do: check A10 4600, it has HD 7660G GPU, probably 1002-9900 ID; check A10 5750M, it has HD 8650G GPU, probably 1002-990B ID. Too many guesses when the user could just provide :

- the system used. Not really important, but it might come in handy when BIOS related problems arise
- the component in question. If you ask about GPU, then GPU I need, not CPU, RAM or else. Important!
- the ID of the component. Crucial!
- other related details. Full picture of the problem.

I hope you recovered to a working state. This is a good report on NOT to change OEM compiled files. It shouldn’t be too hard for Asrock to add them in the UEFI firmware, the Marvell EFI drivers are already out there. Please report back if they do it, I’m curious to see if their support is really up to it.

If you have a Z77 machine as your signature suggests then you already have a UEFI motherboard (with similar looks). Other than that, the specific look & feel of the interface has to do with the OEM. You can’t do anything for that.

However, this is not the best way for someone for the driver can not be found on its official website or it will take you much time doing that.
