I doubt you are going to see new CPU Microcode for a SB/IV system. Even if you do, the previous uCodes are better for overclocking either way. Intel RAID oROM & RST driver support for 6-series was halted after v12, there won’t be something new there either.
"Because we can": sure we can, up until you break something that was working properly. You can do a lot of things, whether it’s recommended or not is a whole other story. A latter version does not automatically mean better. It might mean better for some configurations (usually newer PCHs). That applies to INF Utility, RAID oROM, RST Drivers, CPU Microdode & everything else.
Other 3rd party oROMs are system-specific and asking here whether they are going to get updated is silly. How should we know for certain? When and if something new is found, the forum/topics/tools etc are updated to reflect that good or bad change. That question does not make sense to me. Still, if you want a quick, generic & satisfactory on purpose answer then: Yes.
This is not a bug in UBU, it is a problem of free space in the BIOS.
Give a link to the BIOS and microcode which you specifically need?
Edit:
If you need to update only for SandyBridge-E (06D6/06D7) choose option "2".
Hi, I have same problem with Asus P8H61-M LX2 pcb rev. 3.0 (file P8H61-M-LX2-SI-0605.ROM) and UBU v1.90. Option 2 not working. I need update only Sandy Bridge microcode for my i5 2400.
This board have Winbond W25Q32BV 32Mb flash. I was try BIOS for LX2/CSM (P8H61-M-LX2-CSM-ASUS-1003.ROM, CPU microcode has updated sucessfully). Motherboard is booting, but unstable and DVI output have artifacts (original BIOS 0605 works fine).
Other BIOSes for other revisions with 64Mb flash (like LX R2.0 etc.) is not working.
btw: I have EEPROM programmer, unsuccessful update is not a problem.

Original BIOS v0605 from Asus site and partially updated (Intel OROM, RTL PXE, VGA OROM) is in attachment.

@JanCerny
1) Are you using the internal GPU or external graphics card?
2) What version of microcode you need 28 or 29?
Thank you for fast response. Motherboard is on my HTPC.
1) I’m using internal GPU
2) Which one is better for passive cooling? Processor is underclocked to 2,5 GHz with disabled Turbo.
I do not advise you to update OROM VBIOS, as in your case it requires setting.
Which one is better microcode I can not tell.
Ok, I will suppose that a newer CPU microcode (29, right?) is much more suitable for HTPC.
//edit: I made some changes (Intel OROM v12.9 is better choice for H61), but still I don’t know how update only one microcode:

v0605 - OROM 12.9.0.2006, RTL v2.60.zip (2.43 MB)
@plutomaniac
Yes, I totally understand your point you know. We could go all day with the topic of “fixing that ain’t broke” as that was brought several times all over the WWW. I didn’t necessarily say anything regarding updated drivers being better than their old counterparts. In the end, to each his own and that was not my question.
Regarding the “third party” OROMs I was asking about, I did put the word “likely” in my question, right? So I was expecting an opinion from the members/moderators here. That’s simply it. It was a valid question. I’m not sure why you always seem hostile.
Anyhow, let’s put this to rest as it’s getting out of topic. I got an answer already. Let’s just agree to disagree as this argument is pointless to the thread anyway.
For more details, see THIS POST.
Thank you, it working rockstable!
Can you make „Ivy Bridge-only“ version for other users?

somehow I mess up my onboard 82759v mac address on my x79 sabertooth when flashing, and found this tool which can manually change the onboard intel lan mac address to fix it.
I don’t know if this tools had post in here before, so I just upload it, just in case somebody need it.
p.s. need to boot up with DOS, so old school.

@ DummyPlug:
Thanks for having offered and attached the EEUPDATE NIC tool. Unfortunately I cannot unzip it, because the file is corrupt.
Since this tool doesn’t really match this UBU thread and nobody may search for the tool here, I ask you to start a new thread within >this< Sub-Forum and re-attach the tool.
Thanks in advance!
Dieter (alias Fernando)
@JanCerny
Do the same with only the CPU microcode for IvyBridge? And what version of microcode CPU must be 19 or 1b?
Yes, please make same. This board is not suitable for oveclocking and I suppose that latest IB microcode 1B is better choice.
btw: Underclocked passive cooled Core i5-2400 has now less than 55 °C, before update it was around 60 °C. New microcode has probably more aggressive C-states. It seems better choice for cheap motherboards with undersized VRM.
Try to upgrade to version 1.10.beta2. Much to ask to give an answer about the results.
@lordkag
Found the file, it is probably LAN Intel UNDI version 3.4.12 . Look?
lan_intel_umknow.rar (89.6 KB)
@ SoniX:
Thanks for the new UBU tool version!
Meanwhile I have updated the start post of this thread.
Remarks:
- To avoid any misunderstandings regarding the new UBU version I renamed the old UBU tool to v1.9.0_final and the new one to v1.10_beta2 (v110 looked like a downgrade from v190).
- Since I have realized, that you have updated the UEFITool and the UEFI Extract Tool as well, I have added it to the Changelog list within the start post.
Regards
Dieter (alias Fernando)
1) Oh. I did not think like that. Thank you.
2) Could be omitted, as soon expected to release new versions of utilities UEFITool.
Best Regards
What does "FFS section load error." mean?
I get this error when i tried to replace realtek lan orom for Asrock q1900.
BIOS on this motherboard is built on the platform of Aptio V. Update such Aptio V BIOS, at the moment, is not supported.
@ Fernando
Please add the first post. "BIOSes platform Aptio V viewing only, the update is not supported!"
PS I’ll let you know as soon as the update will be implemented on the platform Aptio V. While it is not feasible.
Thank you for your understanding.
Done!
