areca ar-1210 problem

Hi

Can someone help me with this raid controller and drivers? I have downloaded official drivers but hardware id’s don’t match. (this might be a last windows 10 update screw-up.

Fernando can you please add to areca drivers id’s PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0372 and PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0370. I have tried to install intell 8033 drivers but this results in code 31
drivers for areca are at http://www.areca.com.tw/support/s_windows/windows.htm

@cetverooki :
I don’t think, that a modded Intel RAID driver will work with your Areca RAID Controller.
Are you sure regarding the VendorID DEV_8086?
Where is the Controller listed within the DeviceID and how is it named?

I have no idea how or why but today everything works.

I did set last night raid volume from controller bios and left it to do its magic. then I have booted to windows 10 and continue to work on unrelated things. After some time i have tried again (as i have before) to use areca web interface to check if software recognizes raid card and array. To my surprise it did. raid volume build was on 80+%. I have left it to finish and then shut down pc. Today I have turned on pc and remotely accessed it. All drivers are installed and volume is accessible.
Was it restart or was it windows 10 downloading some missing component; I have no idea.

And yes I have 2 Intell 80333 PCI Express-to-PCI Bridge (those are PCI\VEN_8086 devices) devices and Areca Virtual scsi raid device in system devices and Areca storeport sata raid hos adapter under storage controllers.

Strange but now it works.

Thanks for your feedback. It is fine, that you got it working at least.

The Intel PCIe-to-PCI Bridge neither needs nor uses a real driver (just an Intel Chipset Device INF file), whereas the Areca virtual SCSI RAID device needs a driver delivered by Areca. That is why it wouldn’t have made sense to modify any Intel RAID driver for the RAID device, which had been manufactured by Areca.
