Asrock Taichi X370

hello,

I apologize if this is the wrong place, but i updated the bios to 5.6, i would like to know if there is a way to downgrade it, before i try to and brick my MB. i’m not attempting to mode the bios. i just would like a simple way to downgrade it without bricking it.

Thank you for your time.

This should work - https://www.overclock.net/forum/11-amd-m…-correctly.html
Why did you upgrade without knowing how to downgrade first? They put warning there that you wont be able to downgrade - https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/X370%20Taichi/#BIOS

it was working until i saw in task manager i only had 3gb ram available out of 16gb. i did all the windows check it wasn’t windows assigning the “hardware reserve”. went into bios noticed memory was single channel instead of dual channel. tried 1 stick at a time machine booted normally and it read only .70 reserved for hardware. then i decided to run mem test from bootable flash drive. bth sticks passed. shut down the machine went to bed. when i tried to boot up again it wouldn’t boot to windows. i cleared cmos, 1 stick at a time nothing, i’m able to boot from flash drive to run mem test can’t get machine to boot my raid drives i can’t even get into the raid config. machine doesn’t even give me invalid disk message.

so i appreciate your assistance and time

The memory issue could be due to bent CPU socket pins, incorrect voltages (memory or Vtt etc). Did you remove and insert CPU into socket again recently? If not, then maybe not bent pins.
Did you downgrade the BIOS using that method, or not? Or, are you describing why you upgraded to current 5.6 BIOS? About your RAID, do you have BIOS Set to RAID again, after you load optimized, since you cleared CMOS?
RAID may be destroyed if you let it try to load to disk without setting RAID again after BIOS flash or clear of CMOS etc

What BIOS version were you using before updating to 5.6? There is a LOT of warnings about BIOS versions on that download page
