Hi,
Stumbled appone an old post regarding ASM1064 SATA cards, have one of them in my Proxmox box. Think I did a bios update on my mainboard, since then I’ve had HDD issues with TrueNAS.
It’s complaining about degrading zpool, did’nt have any issues before the bios update (I think).
For good measure after seeing the post here about a later FW for the Asmedia card I gave that a stab without luck.
Would a downgrade of M/B bios to previous version help?
From what I can see now I took a big hop from version 3212 → 3601 (latest).

Ps. I’m aware of HBA is a much better option for TrueNAS, will get one soon.

You should ask Asus, its their bios code…it’s them that knows what changes were made.
Downgrades are usually not advisable but the anwser for your request can only be anwsered if your willing to to risk the downgrades, who know you may have lucky and an earlier bios version will solve it…or not at all.
Firmware/bios is not always the culprit of these situations…revise your hw/cables/connectors etc…
