Asus fa506qr bios unlock

Good morning and thanks in advance for any help given. I am looking for a way to unlock the bios of my Asus FA506QR-HN036T laptop. It’s a mid/high range gaming laptop and i honestly cannot for the life of me imagina what Asus was thinking when they decided to lock users out of everything useful in bios lol. But i would really like to access things like XMP and have been searching for a while for a way to do so. I would be really grateful if anyone could help me out with this.

@AlanC

1. unfortunately ,i think there are no xmp features or d.o.c.p features in a amd ryzen laptop ,they didn’t design these features. Not only ASUS ,every motherboard manufacturers will not provide any tweak features or overclock by default for warranty reason. And laptop didn’t support processor oc ,too.

2. Only method you could adjust memory is use amd’s peculiar menu module : amd cbs menu ,below is some my modify successful cases in fx505dd and FA706IU and other. Here are users adjust memory freq and some test screenshots.
here ,here2 ,here3

3. Now what i can do menu unlock in asus’s 3xxx and 4xxx series ryzen laptops ,they’re include AMD PBS MENU and AMD CBS MENU unlocked. Your fa506qr is new ryzen 5xxx laptop ,i’m interesting to
modify its bios ,why? In addtion of CBS and PBS menus ,there is a new menu name “AMD Overclocking” in 5xxx platform ,i guess it may
overclock in more detail. This is why i reply your topic.

It’s a new challenge for me to edit bios in a new platform and i’m also not sure whether it would be successful ,but i still wanna take a attempt ,it’s worth to tring. If you have a spi programmer can read/write data from bios chip and also interesting with it ,you can contact me.

Good luck!

Thanks for the information. It’s kinda sad really that we are locked out of literally everything in bios now. Can’t adjust timings or latency or even touch the potential of cpu either. XMP is an intel feature you’re correct. I have seen it used on amd desktops however now so i assumed there would be no reason not to allow it on laptops too. Guess i was wrong sadly. I am not looking for any seriously hardcore access. Simply wish to be able to utilise the ram to it’s full potential as it’s supposed to be recommended and compatible with the laptop.

What can you say about latest fa607iu bios? Can you unlock it?

@genius239 can i push oldest bios into the fa706iu? Or you can update unlock for latest?
