I have an Asus P5E3 Deluxe/WiFi-AP (X38 Chipset) With RAID1 SSD’s 2 x OCZ VECTOR 150 of 120GB (VTR150-25SAT3-120G).
This volume is bootable with Win7 64bit.
As the motherboard has the Intel ROM 7.5 i update it to intel RAID ROM 11.2.0.1527 with the instructions found on this forum.
I use the latest 1502 BIOS with only modification the intel RAID ROM 11.2.0.1527.
I use the Intel RST Driver 11.2.0.1006 for win7 x64.
Everything works fine and the computer is super fast but i have 3 problems:
1) Everytime i do verify the volume from Rapid Storage console i get 65535 Verification errors
2) OCZ toolbox says "No Supported Drives Found"
3) TrimCheck (github.com/CyberShadow/trimcheck) Says that TRIM is not working.
Note: The “fsutil behavior query DisableDeleteNotify” Reports ‘0’ which means TRIM is enabled.
Is there something i can do to enable TRIM on my disks? I have read that RAID1 TRIM is supported since Intel 9.5… RAID0 is delayed but RAID1 should work…
Why Ocz toolbox doesn’t recognise my disks?
Why i get so many verification errors? Other 2 Raid1 volumes i have (Non SSD Disks) doesn’t have this verification errors problems.
Should i change the ROM and driver version to another?

Welcome at Win-RAID Forum!
No, there is no chance to get Trim activity within your Intel ICH9R RAID1 array.
You should ask OCZ. The OCZ Toolbox is not the only SSD tool, which doesn’t work with SSDs, which are members of a RAID array.
I don’t know the answer. With which Intel RAID ROM Utility did you create the RAID1 array? Maybe it would help, if you would recreate it by using the Intel RAID ROM v11.2.0.1527.
No, you are using already the best possible Intel RAID OROM/driver combination.

Fernando
What actually mean that i can’t enable TRIM is that my system will perform slower over time and the life of my ssd’s will be shorten?
RAID array i think was created with 7.5 OROM but RAID volume was deleted and created with OROM 11.2
Yes, but the impact depends on
a) the quality of the SSD Firmware and its Garbage Collection activity and
b) the usage of the RAID array.
I don’t know, if it will have any positive effect, but I always recommend to delete the old array and to recreate a new one, when the Intel RAID ROM module has been updated to a completely new development branch (example: MSM v7.5 to RST v10.1).
I have deleted the RAID volume and format the disk and installed win7 again in 1 of the disk in non raid. Controller is on RAID mode but disk works as non member of RAID (AHCI).
TRIM Check again says that TRIM is not working…
It is sometimes difficult to detect TRIM activity within OCZ SSDs.
This has nothing to do with the Intel RAID ROM v11.2.0.1527 and with the in use AHCI driver.
I was not able to make any combination to work the TRIM on RAID or AHCI.
Finally i done the install in RAID1. VOLUME created from 11.2 ROM with CTRL + I I install 11.2 Driver with F6 and then when windows started i install the full 11.2 driver.
All my original problems remain:
1) Everytime i do verify the volume from Rapid Storage console i get 65535 Verification errors
2) OCZ toolbox says "No Supported Drives Found"
3) TrimCheck (github.com/CyberShadow/trimcheck) Says that TRIM is not working.
Are you sure, that both RAID1 members are ok?
That is no surprise for me. The OCZ Toolbox obviously only detects OCZ SSDs, which are not member of a RAID array.
You should do the manual TRIM test by using a hex editor. This method is more sensitive regarding low TRIM activity.
…) Everytime i do verify the volume from Rapid Storage console i get 65535 Verification errors
I connect the SSD i had on port 0 to port 1 and the SSD from port 1 to port 0, delete and create RAID again and problem solved!!!
Stupid solution but it works!
Thanks for the report. It is fine, that you could solve the problem.
I suspect, that you had unplugged and re-plugged the SATA cables some time ago. This way the cable connection between the SSDs and the SATA ports 0 and 1 may have gotten mixed.
Although both RAID1 array members do contain the same data, the allocation of the RAID1 members to the specific SATA port should not be changed.
Dear Fernando,
Once i connect the SSD’s on my system i didn’t have change disconnect them.
Only disconnect them and re-plugged on the same port.
Today for 1st time i unplug them and plug them on different port and that solved the problem with the verification errors.
Can you please explain what you mean by: “the allocation of the RAID1 members to the specific SATA port should not be changed”?
I have other RAID1 disks that i sometimes disconnect them and connect them to a different computer (same specs, and sata driver version) and they work. When i take them back to my computer i connect them with whatever order… I am doing this for Years and never had problems…
