The best tool for Intel SSDs should be the Intel SSD Toolbox. but as long as I have used the Intel X-25 M SSDs I have done it by booting off the HDDErase 3.3 CD.
Hi Fernando,
thx for the advice,
I couldnt get HDDErase 3.3 working, it never sees my SSD’s. (even in IDE mode or AHCI mode)
So i have used DBAN for a full erase, and then used HDDTune for a Zero wipe, and a secure erase with Parted Magic.
So I thought my ssd’s are fully formated…
Then I have created yet again a new RAID0 array, and after install of Windows 10, and second reboot my second SSD has an Error Occured. (see previous pic.)
The Intel SSD Toolbox couldnt secure format my SSD’s, it was unable to secure erase them… (was complaining about replugging the drive’s, I did that many times but didnt work)
Hope you can help me out…
Thanks again in advance,
This may indicate, that your second SSD is going to die. Have you checked the SSD by using the Intel SSD Toolbox?
Hi Fernando,
Im checking the disks once again, with Full Diagnostic Scan from intel SSD Toolbox.
I still dont understand why I can use Secure Erase.
Please see the screenshot from Intel SSD Toolbox. (I have unplugged and plugged my ssd’s in again, but didnt work)
I’ve got this problem with both my 330 SSD’s…

You have to unplug the power cable of the SSD for a few seconds without powering off the computer.
After having re-connected the power cable the secure erase procedure should work.
Hi,
I will try that again, and a little longer…
Will post results here asap.
Thanks in advance,
I’ve unplugged the sata power cable for several times several minutes. But no succes…
Whats going wrong here :S…
I’m thinking of flashing my bios back to original, and see if the problem then still exists…
I’ve provided the BIOS i’m currently running in this post. maybay an expert can see if there is something wrong modded on it ??

I don’t think, that your problem has anything to do with the BIOS resp. its Intel RAID ROM module.
EDIT: I have opened the attached BIOS and extracted the Intel RAID ROM module v10.1.0.1008. Nothing seems to be wrong.
Hi,
Many thx for checking the BIOS…
I’ve just flashed back to Origninal BIOS, and created new RAID0 array, installed Windows 10 again, and everything is running still normal and good.
When got the modded bios, my second SSD had problems already in the RAID manager by this time…
Very strange, but with origninal it looks like its running fine now, but like you said that could not be the problem… ?
UPDATE :
got a BSOD again, and SSD failed again in intel RAID bios…
So to be sure, indeed like you said its not the bios…
Gonna send this SSD to RMA ASAP i think…
Strangly SMART doesnt show any sings of strange numbers guess, I will post the SMART here soon…
After creating a new RAID0 array with my other X25-M SSD, it all works fine…
I’ve started RMA today for the defecte 330 SSD today, wil post update here when its fixed…
Thanks for all your help so fo far Fernando !
