Asus P8Z77-V PRO - enabling Turbo *and* overclock

Hi,

I recently bought a Asus P8Z77-V PRO motherboard to replace a Gigabyte GA-Z68AP-D3 motherboard. This has provided me with another two PCIe 4x slots for use with NVME drives without having to upgrade any additional components - for some reason the Gigabyte’s second PCIe 16x slot would only work at 1x speeds.

I followed the excellent BIOS modding guides, on this site, and have successfully enabled nvme support.

My old motherboard allowed me to set the CPU multiplier to 42x with everything set to ‘auto’. The CPU would run at 4.2GHz, but boost was still enabled. Windows Task Manager reported the CPU speed as boosting to ~5.2GHz

The ASUS motherboard automatically disables Turbo, if the multiplier is increased. Is there any method for modding the BIOS to prevent these settings from locking when the multiplier is adjusted?

Thanks,

Grimer
