@SamsungASUS - That is normal about that section of the BIOS, as I mentioned this is rarely coded correctly, and is only information section about graphics cards.
If it’s bothering you I can hide it, I should have left hidden anyway, it’s never of use by anyone for anything, and has nothing to do with internal graphics ever. This is nothing to do with what you think it is
vBIOS dump only applies to PCIE graphics card. I removed the UEFI/EFI vBIOS/GOP from this BIOS, so you now cannot boot UEFI mode with internal graphics, due to GOP is removed.
You can use PCIE in UEFI mode, or internal graphics in UEFI mode with CSM enabled IF you set VGA Support to Auto on Boot page. In such cases, you will not see anything at POST (no Full screen Logo) until windows loads.
Yes, you cannot dump BIOS vBIOS with GPU-z, only PCIE card vBIOS. I already have vBIOS from within the BIOS, it’s in the BIOS, so I don’t need dump
Nothing to do there anyway, I cannot remove vBIOS or you wont be able to boot/see anything on screen with onboard graphics. GOP is already removed completely from the BIOS, so if you still have problem with Win7 while using onboard graphics ONLY, it has nothing to do with this.
Sorry, but I’m still able to boot Windows 10 in UEFI mode with CSM support, but I can’t boot Windows 7 in UEFI mode with CSM support. And I’m still confused about not being able to boot in UEFI mode, are you saying without the Internal GOP I won’t be able to boot into UEFI without CSM or I won’t be able to boot into UEFI mode at all? And I believe I already tried to put the VGA support to AUTO instead of EFI Driver, still blue screened. I’m not trying to make things difficult, and sorry if I am, but it just doesn’t make sense that Internal GOP is removed and Windows 7 blue screens, and I don’t really understand if not being able to boot into UEFI means UEFI without CSM or UEFI in general.
@SamsungASUS - I am sorry as well, I am not a OS install pro, only BIOS editing is my specialty. You cannot boot to Win10 in UEFI Mode with secure boot enabled and CSM disabled, or with CSM enabled but with graphics set to UEFI/EFI mode, this is what I meant, due to GOP is removed from this BIOS (the last BIOS I sent you, not the first one)
If you cannot install Win7 with the last BIOS I sent you, in Legacy mode (OS Type other, secure boot disabled) with CSM enabled or disabled and VGA Support set to Auto/legacy, then this and or GOP has nothing to do with the current Win7 install issue. There is NO GOP in that BIOS, so it cannot be part of the issue.
GOP = Used to UEFI Boot - If removed, as it is in last BIOS I sent you, this = you cannot boot and have display functions when VGA Support EFI/UEFI and/or Secure Boot enabled and CSM disabled, because there is no GOP module there to load for display function
vBIOS = Used to Legacy boot, also used in UEFI mode when CSM enabled and VGA Support set to Auto/legacy
Drop 1st BIOS I sent you in UBU then compare that to 2nd BIOS I sent you dropped in UBU, you will see GOP is removed from the onboard video section and only orom vBIOS remains (legacy)
My guess is this has nothing to do with, or is at least not the only/current issue with your win7 install attempts. If you feel it is part of the issue, it’s removed now so that part of the problem is resolved, move onto next suspect culprit to try and sort it out.
Alright, I’ll try a few more times, this time I’ll set VGA Support to Auto.
---------------------
You were right, it’s either the motherboard, BIOS, or CPU that’s the problem. Windows 7 kept on blue screening and I don’t know why. As of right now, the computer parts are of no use to me, and I’ll just give my parts to one of my parents, because I can’t get the motherboard to work. I just have one more request, can you restore the Internal GOP settings and have IDE mode show up or enabled on the sata controller as both my parents have IDE mode already enabled on the sata on their current computers? Sorry that I asked for stuff that doesn’t work, all I ever wanted was to have a second modern computer with Windows 7, guess that was too much to ask for.
@SamsungASUS - Yes, VGA Support MUST be set to Auto on that last BIOS I sent you with GOPREM, otherwise CSM enabled may set/invoke same thing, not 100% sure, but no matter what GOP/UEFI VGA/Display can’t be used as it’s not in there anymore.
You’re going to have similar issues with MANY modern boards and Win7, they (Intel/AMD/Microsoft) are forcibly removing older OS and old hardware support
If you need some AMD 4xx series board that supports Win7, search around in google about Win7 install on it, before you decide on a model, there may not be any
For “GOP” added back, use BIOS I sent you first time, post #16. IDE?? Surely this board does not have IDE, correct? Sorry, I didn’t look at the board images or specs, just assumed
If your parents are using Win7 now, and have BIOS currently set to IDE mode, what CPU type are they using Intel or AMD? If Intel, I can show you registry changes to make, to allow you to then switch BIOS from IDE/AHCI/RAID etc without issue.
Anyway, IDE mode should be visible in the BIOS to you already, at least it looks that way when I checked the BIOS, but I may not be looking at same area you are? Please show me image of where you are looking at the SATA controller with only AHCI/RAID option in the BIOS.
When I was trying to edit the BIOS with AMIBCP, I saw some options for IDE SATA mode, but I could never get them because I don’t know how to mod AMI BIOSES. And I have pictures where all SATA options only show AHCI and RAID, and there was only one menu that said IDE configuration.
asus ide.zip (1.02 MB)
@SamsungASUS - I am talking about in the BIOS itself, nothing to do with AMIBCP. I did not download above package, what is that? If it’s AMIBCP images, I do not need, show me the BIOS where you set AHCI/RAID
It’s the BIOS pictures showing multiple SATA menus and options. You should know I always try to follow directions.
OK, thanks. It’s not possible to enable IDE modes in this BIOS due to the SATA control config area of Advanced in removed from the BIOS, what you see at bottom on left in AMIBCP is not options for this BIOS/ not used / can’t be used etc.
All other areas you showed, do not have IDE as an option. So, this board is not compatible for anything you want. Best to flash to BIOS at #16 and install windows 10 in normal AHCI mode on this and use that way, or give to someone to use that way, or return or resell
This motherboard model is just not made for you
Look, sorry if I sound a little snappy or rude, I’m not trying to be, it’s just I had a really emotional day today with the motherboard and Acer laptop not working at all, and I also had my mother yell at me. Sorry if I was rude, wasn’t trying to be.
No, not at all! I never thought anything like that, so you’re fine!
And I only said that at the end there trying to be sad/funny at same time, since this board is so much pain for your intended usage So I just assumed you wanted it to
Lol, that was funny. Yeah, I might as well try to either sell that processor and get a new AMD Ryzen without the Vega graphics, or just buy a new AMD Ryzen without Vega graphics alone. But yeah, this AMD Ryzen Processor and BIOS is driving me nuts.
i am really a noobie, i read the warning not using this bios mod but i am also using asus prime b450m-a… and i want to know if in the additional options that were unlocked, is the hpet toggle there now and also can i use this without breaking anything?
i am struggling with hpet causing latency even if i turn it off through bcdedit commands
@babypudgy - HPET turned off via BCDEdit makes things worse, that should be put back to stock (ie >> BCDEdit.exe /set useplatformclock yes)
But yes, if I unlock BIOS for you, then you will be able to toggle HPET - Dump your BIOS via method linked at post #4 and then send to me in zip
Hi everyone, can someone help me with an unlocked BIOS but for the B450M-A model
@GaboEx17 - Usually -X/CSM = same as -X without CSM, can you EZ Flash stock CSM BIOS, or does it tell you no?
@GaboEx17 - OK, thanks! I know some CSM/Non-CSM boards in the past I’ve personally swapped BIOS between, but maybe I did special method to flash and just don’t remember having to do so, or sometimes in the past maybe they didn’t block it back then.
I’m thinking P67-B75M era, so maybe less restrictions or less care they put into blocking things then. Link me to the BIOS download page for your correct model, and tell me what BIOS version you are using.
@Lost_N_BIOS this is the mobo site:
https://www.asus.com/latin/Motherboards/…/HelpDesk_BIOS/
And im using the BIOS 2203 the latest one
