ASUS X299 WS Sage (Not 10G/II)Enable PCI-E Bifurcation

Hello all, Looking to add Bifurcation support to my board, Trying to build my end goal workstation, multiboot, VMs, all the fun stuff. but i need storage for that…

Really bummed that its not native, VROC is but switching that on doesnt seem to be the right answer, for 1, it applies to half the PCIe slots at once, and 2, causes system to hang at post when enabled in my case.

Ive taken a look at how to do this myself, but this is really so far over my head.

Ill keep poking around and see if i cant break it myself haha but if someone who knows this way way more than me can take a crack id be so grateful!

Here is the link to the downloads for this board, Boop boop

Once again, thanks so much even just for looking!

Just adding this if it helps in some way: my Current PCIe Devices Look like this:

PCIE1 ||||||| 3080 Ti |||||||
PCIE2 ||||||| ||||||| ||||||| ||||||
PCIE3 (basically blocked, Fans rub on cards placed here… ask me how annoyed this makes me!)
PCIE4 ||||||| AMD Radeon Pro W5500 |||||||
PCIE5 ||||||| Newly Added 4x4 m.2 board |||||||
PCIE6 ||||||| Intel Dual 10Gbe nic |||||||
PCIE7 - empty, possible wifi+BT card in the future -

im totally willing to move anything around if i need to! if it can only be turned on for the 1st slot or something, thats fine!

and here is the the flow of PCIe and all that, also, just trying to help <3

CPU lanes dependent, bios version/settings available, Hyper M.2 card support

An inquiry to Asus support is advisable for Hyper M.2 support with the X299 SAGE
The forum can’t confim any claims on compatibility, only a user with the same model and similar storage operation.
