Asus X550LB shutting down every 30min

Did you run MEinfo in DOS, actual boot to DOS not command prompt?

You may need to purchase CH341A flash programmer and SOIC8 test clip jumper cables and get a verified backup, then post that here so we can update the ME for you by hand, then you reprogram back with the programmer.
This may be the only way to fix, since there is no ME included in the BIOS and ME is corrupted so you cannot use the ME FW update tool.

First of all i like thank everybody for the help. Really preciated.

I cant get this to boot in Dos. Tried many programs to create Dos boot stick but no one worked. Dont know whats wrong.

Cant you modify the bios from the Asus website to inject the ME?

Try this method to create DOS USB stick - <Request> Flagship X470 Gaming 7 Wifi Motherboard BIOS Fix

Then hit boot menu at startup, choose USB or HDD then USB once in the HDD section. No, ME cannot be inserted into this BIOS, but it’s already there on your BIOS on the board, like I said you’re probably going to have to get a flash programmer.
But, please try to get DOS info before giving up and getting a programmer.

Yea i tried the HP format utility too.

Ok i tried the Dos stick to another laptop which has same bios layout and its boots fine but not in this broken one.
I made Linux usb stick and it boots fine in this broken one but not the Dos stick.

No matter what I think you are going to have to order a flash programmer and SOIC8 text clip cable, please go ahead and get those ordered now since it will take a long time in shipping unless you spend 2-3X $ to purchase locally.

Did you try the exact method I outlined, from scratch step by step (not skipping any steps I mentioned)?
If yes, and you’ve tried all USB Ports. Check BIOS settings to be sure all USB related settings are enabled, legacy USB etc and that you are starting from optimal or optimized defaults not fail safe or anything that sounds like that

Yea tried every ports, putting default settings. No go. Followed step by step instructions. Tried different usb sticks.

I think theres something more wrong in bios because it doesnt show cd drive in boot settings http://kuvanjako.fi/7yt1y.jpg although it shows it in windows.

In other laptop where it boots fine it shows cd drive http://kuvanjako.fi/608pw.jpg

In 3rd laptop which have no cd drive it doesnt also boot, but in 4rd older laptop it boots fine. Im loss here.

Btw is there some wild bios you could flash, i dont mind if this getting bricked.

Get out of UEFI Mode, then you can boot to USB (Non-EUFI USB). I see in your image UEFI-Sandisk, this is the problem.
Somewhere in settings you have EUFI boot enabled, or set to windows 8-10 boot etc. Change that to legacy or older OS, or disable UEFI Boot, then reboot back to BIOS and go to boot override and choose that USB again (this time it wont be UEFI-Sandisk)

Ok got it boot to dos.

Both Infos 9.1 and 9.5 gives this
[PMODE/W]: A20 Error!

That is a DOS related error, which DOS are you using, the one I linked or another? I see I need to change that in my files as well!

On your DOS boot stick, open config.sys and change first part to this

1
2
3
4
5
6

device=HIMEM.SYS /testmem:off
dos=high,umb
files=64
buffers=32
stacks=9,256

Did you order programmer yet? It will be needed most likely, CH341A flash programmer and SOIC8 text clip cable (only $3-4 each one ebay)

Yea i ordered the items.

Still showing same error after changing the config.sys. http://kuvanjako.fi/2gty0.png

This is my dos screen http://kuvanjako.fi/8slr3.jpg from your guide to dos stick.

Is it hard to use the programmer?

edit. Got it work with another dos stick and it says same errors as in windows.

Not sure about the DOS error then, I thought that would fix it! Must be a hidden setting in your BIOS not allowing the HMA to load. I do not get that screen, before or after the change, but I have seen that error before with various things in DOS.
Now that you can boot DOS, maybe try your original DOS method and see if it works better?

Programmer is easy to use, but you will have to open your laptop up, possibly all the way too I am not sure. You’d have to show me images of the board with the bottom side taken off, before I could tell you if BIOS is there on the bottom where it’s easy to access.

Hey! I figured out that DOS error. Put back original config.sys info in top section, per below
DEVICE=HIMEM.SYS /testmem:off
FILES=30
BUFFERS=20

Then delete the himem.sys from the USB

Yea got i work. Thanks.

9.5 gives same error as in windows "Communication error between application and Intel(R) ME module (FW Update client)"

so does 9.1 "Error 9460: Unknown or unsupported hardware platform"

Then it’s corrupted as we suspected expected, you’re going to have to pickup a CH341A flasher and SOIC8 text clip cable, there’s really no other way to fix that

Ok will wait until the programmer and cable arrives.

Will be easy to fix once you have the tools. Don’t write anything to the chip until you are 100% sure and we confirmed that you have a verified backup.
You will need to read the chip and then verify, if memory/buffer and chip match 100% then that is verified, then save the file and send here so we can check, still do not write anything until we tell you backup is correct and complete, otherwise you will loose your board details such as UUID, Serial #, LAN MAC ID, windows activation etc)

The cable hasnt arrived yet but i take picture from mobo. Is that the right place where the arrow is?

No, that´s not the bios chip. You are searching for a chip with 8 legs, 4 on each side. Take a picture of the whole board from both sides.

Something like this

@oldirdey is correct, thanks! If you can’t find this, or find multiple (usually), please post some images of both sides of the board and I’ll show you which is BIOS.
It may be this one, but I can’t tell for sure without up close image or better images

Cant get better quality from my phone. Hope its enough.
