Hey there,
so I’m planning to build a “high end” XP machine in a few months or so and I wonder what’s the best platform that can run XP without issues and still has full driver support (doesn’t matter if official or unofficial). I have never done any system file modification (acpi.sys etc) and stuff like that so I guess it would be better if I don’t have to do that. I know X79 still has full driver support for Windows XP and Haswell (Z87) seems to be not much of an issue either. But what about X99 for Haswell-E and Broadwell-E? Can that platform still run XP without having to do a lot of modifications?
Ivy Bridge is the last Intel platform to fully support Windows XP and the earliest Intel microarchitecture to officially support Windows 10 64-bit.
On such platform, you will install WinXP/Vista/7/8/8.1/10
