Hi Everyone,
I’m new here and seeking for help. I’ve a laptop that is HP-G62-b67ES was working good but very hot and after few minutes automatically turns off. I read some forum that explains that it is the bios problem and how to flash the bios, then I bought a USB Programmer CH341A from ebay to flash the bios. Bios description is here http://www.datasheetcafe.com/25032bvsig-datasheet-winbond/
I tried to download some different .bin file to flash it but none of the method is working. One of them is here https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0…sp=sharing#list
and from hp website as well, now I’m facing new problem that display is gone off and capslock key and num key has light, HDD has beep. Feels like the programmed bios is not correct and I do’t have a backup of anything, now I don’t know what to do next, I’m already tired of searching google, I need someone experts help please. Thanks guys.
Download bios: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/self…3/model/5036295
extract file from *.exe with winrar
open CH341A Programmer and select open “all file”, select file “01439.fd” and program chip.
That .fd image is encrypted as it’s always the case with HP’s BIOS releases. If flashed in such form, the platform will brick. First decryption is needed using HP’s included Insyde executable > Save BIOS option. The resulting 01439.bin file is still not ready as the SPI data start at 0x10000 with everything before meant for EC/KBC which I assume it’s on a different 64KB chip. The SPI image is full (all required Regions present) so it should be directly flashable on the 4MB SPI chip.
HP 01439 Images.rar (5.2 MB)
Hi,
Thanks for your help, I’ve tried your method but still is the same problem. If you have any other method let me know please. Thanks
If it gets hot then you need to open it up and clean all the dust as well as change cpu thermal paste. That is not a BIOS issue.
Hi plutomaniac,
Thanks for the more information, i’ve seen your attachment that has 3 .bin file, how do I flash them, one at a time or together, sounds may be funny to you, but I’m new so I believe you understand my stupid question. Thanks again please let me know.
Hi plutomaniac,
You are a legend, I just tried with the SPI.bin flash from your attachment and the display is came back but after few minutes is turning off because the motherboard is getting too hot. What is next tell me please.
Thanks
