Hello, I found this community when looking for advices or straight out mods of my laptop’s BIOS. It is ASUS ROG Strix GL702ZC, a laptop with desktop Ryzen CPU (R7 1700 currently), and with AM4 PGA socket. So I’m interested in putting Ryzen 3rd gen there. (And perhaps a bit faster SO-DIMM sticks, too.)
I am not much interested in unlocking OC features except maybe for memory clocks. I don’t have any other mods in mind other than the two above. I’ve read in another thread that modding a mobile BIOS is also possible, but harder than modding a desktop BIOS. I have no idea what my BIOS really is, considering the desktop CPU, but SO-DIMM sticks. Either way, upgrading to Ryzen 5 3600 CPU would be very much welcome, it could make it into a better workstation than it already is.
Could you give me some directions? I have no experience with BIOS modding, but I’m a programmer, I should understand this stuff a bit better than an average Joe.
