BIOS setup always shows Startup Guide

I recently noticed that entering BIOS setup (Gigabyte Z97) always shows Startup Guide and not ST (Classic) Mode as it previously did. Pressing F2 switches to ST (Classic) Mode where changes can be made and saved, but next time entering BIOS setup, it again shows Startup Guide. Is it possible to permanently change it, so entering BIOS setup always shows ST (Classic) Mode?

Some bios has a setting for default user interface, simple/advanced, when enter bios.
Assuming CMOS battery has more than 2.0v remaining life…

I can’t find a setting for default user interface and if it was low CMOS battery, wouldn’t other settings not retained as well?

I said assuming… so it has the voltage and saves the settings, so you answered yourself no setting available, ask Gigabyte.

Gigabyte has not been of much assistance on previous questions for such an old motherboard. As this (entering BIOS setup to ST mode) used to work in the past, I am asking if anyone has an idea that could help?

Bad bios mod, corrupted NVram, corrupted bios, dying board, dying SPI IC…just pick one of your “taste”
