Cannot create VMWare microcode dat file

I have new cpu microcode for cpuid 906E9 but I am not able to create dat file to perform update via VMware driver.
MC extractor says that is not able to convert intel container.



Coul someone help me with this

Sorry but it’s taken 2 weeks to painfully type each byte and triple check the result.

By converting each dword (4 bytes) from binary to comma separated ascii and then just add header.

Thanks to both of you! I don’t see this request often, but I couldn’t help and hated not replying when he asked, I’m glad you guys stopped in to help!

*Edit - none of the files created by that exe match what CLP0 posted, with or without caveats checked? I see some are close, without caveats checked, but none exact. Is there no standard?

Sorry @Lost_N_BIOS but I just made a crude program to generate a workable microcode.dat at the time of using X99 Xeon V3 exploit and VMWare update solution for windows. Was also useful for Skylake bug fix for those that didn’t have a BIOS update yet. Haven’t used it in a while but saw this thread and remembered about it. Perhaps the standard doesn’t need to be strict, maybe @Krzyslaw can try both.

And you certainly don’t need to worry about not being helpful. For instance your help with akm and hidden BIOS settings was absolutely phenomenal and far beyond the norm.

Thank you also for the appreciation and noticing my help efforts for others! I know the akm thread you mentioned, it was a long one, and recently I think we’re getting back into it for something else this past week or two as well
