Can't seem to install Windows XP on Asus Z97-A

Hi there. I lurked this forum some months ago to slipstream AHCI drivers onto my xp disc and it worked perfectly on my old x58 chipset.

Now I’m trying to install XP on a brand new Asus Z97-A but I’m not having much luck.

When setup loads, I bluescreen with 0x000000A5 "the ACPI BIOS in the system is not fully compliant with the ACPI specification"

I flashed the latest BIOS version, tried disabling APM and legacy USB, have CSM enabled, and even tried loading defaults, but nothing seems to work. I’ve also tried pressing F7 during setup, but after selecting any of the options in the menu that comes up, I still get the same error once setup loads.

Is there something I’m missing? Thanks a lot in advance.

Welcome at Win-RAID Forum!

Is it possible, that you had chosen a special (not compliant) ACPI setting while processing your XP image by using nLite?

I’m 99% sure, although I made the image months ago.

I can’t imagine it wouldn’t be compliant, since I was able to use it with my previous motherboard just fine.

Different motherboards may need different ACPI settings.
