I tried to install W7 to this mobo (which came out recently) https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B360M-D3H-rev-10
USB:
As expected, USB ports work in BIOS but not in W7. No problem at firs because I installed the OS with PS2 mouse and when I’m into Windows, I tried to install USB 3.0 drivers. I tried different W7 compatible drivers from Gigabyte’s DVD, Win-Raid Forums and Intel’s official website.
USB driver is the only one showing (!) in Device Manager. I tried with DPInst and also manual installation with no luck.
Hardware ID’s: (I can’t find them anywhere)
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_A36D&SUBSYS_50071458&&REV_10
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_A36D&SUBSYS_50071458
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_A36D&CC_0C0330
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_A36D&CC_0C03
My BIOS settings:
CSM Support: Enabled [Storage Boot Option Control: UEFI, Other PCI Devices: UEFI]
Legacy USB Support
XHCI Hand-off
USB Mass Storage Driver Support
Port 60/64 Emulation
Tried different combinations with no luck yet.
AHCI:
In Device manager under IDE/ATA ATAPI, there is one AHCI driver and 5 of something else(Can’t remember but they were identical, might be IDE).
Even though W7 stock AHCI driver is dated to 2006, when I try to manually update it with INF files, windows says I already have an up-to-date driver.
MEI:
Tried some Intel Management Engine installers from different sources, they abort installation and show “fatal error.”.
I can’t try pure driver installation because I don’t see MEI under Device Manager > System Devices.
Well, Fernando I will use W7 because my life depends on it! Just kidding I can contain it’s telemetry much better than in W10. W10 to me is a spyware. W7 is easier to tame.
I didn’t know W7 wouldn’t show the right HWID. Strange, isn’t it? Anyways, thanks buddy.
@Fernando one question. Three actually.
Should I write down the HWID’s and look for their W7 counterparts?
After I reinstalled 7, it’ll still show the wrong HWID for USB right?
Can you install a driver onto a device which is showing the wrong HWID for itself?
That would be strange, because the Hardware Detection should work with Win7 as well as with Win10.
What lets you think, that the listed HardwareIDs are wrong?
As I have already written, the search for appropriate drivers would be much easier, if you would install Win10 (just temporarily). Later on you can switch to Win7 again (provided, that there are Win7 compatible drivers for your modern on-board devices).
By the way: If you try to replace any in-box MS driver (e.g. the generic AHCI driver) by an appropriate driver offered by the device manufacturer and get the message, that “the best driver is already installed”, you can force the installation of the desired driver by using the “Have Disk” button.
@Fernando
Since you said I should check HWID’s in 10 I thought 7 must be showing them wrong. Ok now, let’s skip 10. Also I’ve seen people intalling 7 without too much trouble before.
I’d still like to benefit from your wisdom.
Firstly, why do you think this HWID “PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_A36D” doesn’t exist on the internet, on any vendor websites, It must’ve been just a simple intel USB controller, right? Except for this russian forum http://forum.ru-board.com/topic.cgi?foru…=8794&start=660
I will have to check that with google translate.
Secondly, where’s the “Have Disk” button to update AHCI?
@Fernando
After reading this translated russian forum (page 34,35) I came to believe it’s not (yet) possible to make USB’s work with W7 on latest mobos h310 b360 h370. They are just newly released and nobody could know it before buying. Fernando, for cheering this poor man up can you show me the best way to install drivers and update W10?
https://translate.google.com/translate?s…t-text=&act=url
When you are going to manually update any driver from within the Device Manager, you have to choose the option “Let me pick…” instead of “Search my Computer…”.
Then you will see the “Have Disk” button. Click onto it and navigate to the matching INF file of your desired driver folder.
Very important: To avoid any problem you should have checked the related HardwareIDs and the model name of the on-board Controller before by opening the INF file with an Editor.
I don’t understand this question. What do you want to do?
Why don’t you save your personal data and do a clean Win 10 installation?
Hello guys, i can help you https://yadi.sk/d/4oswc9qh1q_EIQ it’s drivers PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_A36 win7 64 usb. ty http://forum.ru-board.com

Dude, I specifically registered on the forum to say thank you!!! I searched on many sites and did not find a solution. I have already decided to buy an external usb controller. But here you gave a working solution. You’re great!
Intel officially supports Windows 7 on Coffee Lake H310C (R2.0) chipset only, see this article. https://www.anandtech.com/show/13201/int…ee-lake-support. Ive got 7 working on a H310M S2V 2.0 and Pentium G5400(CL 8th gen).
Intels USB3(XHCI) drivers must be slipstreamed into the boot.wim(Microsoft Windows Setup) and into the install.wim. https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product…ntroller-Driver That driver may be availible here at win-raid. There is no official igpu driver for UHD 610 and 630 and im using GT710 which does support W7. Windows 7 runs lovely on CL and with a suitable bios you will be able to run 9th gen CL refresh cpus.
