We have a HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10 server, It`s running Windows Server 2016 and it has many hard disks configured as RAID arrays.
In this RAID configuration, disks 2 by 2 configured as RAID1. In addition some other hard disks are configured as spare disks for those RAID1s.
I want to create a disk Image from a disk, so I think is it possible to convert a spare disk to a single drive so I can save disk image into it once. . . then convert back to spare, hopefully that spare disk still has disk image data, so in case we should restore disk Image, we convert it to single drive and restore it`s disk image data.
Is it possible?

It is possible to transfer a current member of a RAID Array to an independent storage disk drive, but the exact procedure depends on the manufacturer of the related Storage Controller and the sort of the Array.
You may have to break and to rebuild the RAID Array. Don’t forget to make a backup of your data, before you break the RAID Array and to store it somewhere outside.
