[CPU Upgrade] How to Remove old Microcode from BIOS?

Hello Everyone,

I have a Dell T7910, and I’ve recently ordered a processor upgrade which consisted of dual E5-2699 v4 processors.

While reading through an old forum thread, I came across a discussion about removing the “microcode” from the BIOS menu on a Dell T7910. My bios version is A32

Below is a cooy & paste from the forum thread I was reading.

“Also wanting to do the all core turbo unlock mod, i’ve managed to flash a bios with no microcode but it freezes on bootup to windows and even the bootable disk”

I’ll admit that I don’t fully understand what this entails, but it seems to be associated with improving processor performance and potentially enhancing the system overall.

Here are the current specifications of my system:

Operating System: Windows 11 24H2

System Memory: 256GB (16 x 16GB DDR4 2666MHz ECC REG)

Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Founders Edition (24GB)

If anyone has insights about the micronode or its impact on performance, I’d appreciate your guidance or how I would go about doing this. I tried to download the 1.18 software but the links are not valid any longer.

If possible I woild like to be able to run mynprocessors in Turbo mode?

Thanks in advance!

Thank you Fernando for allowing my post in your forum. If I could improve my computer performance I would be delighted.

@microhunt Unfortunately the all core turbo mod does not work with v4 (Broadwell) Xeons.
