Hello all,
I have here a Dell E6520 Laptop which I upgraded to Win10. I want to get the latest Drivers. In this case, for a device called "Dell ControlVault w/o Fingerprint Sensor". I Always check also Microsoft update catalogue regarding the latest available version. The mentioned device is listed as unknown device in device-manager (no out of box Driver installed by Win10 and no Driver found via automatic Driver update search). Therefore I checked ID in device Manager: USB\VID_0A5C&PID_5800&MI_00\7&66DE6C9&0&0000
If I search for “USB\VID_0A5C&PID_5800&MI_00” in Windows update catalogue, it offers me several different Driver versions:
https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com…ID_5800%26MI_00
If I download one of them (e.g. the latest one), extract them and try to install via device-manager, Windows states that there is no compatible Driver found. But why?? For me it Looks like a 100% match:
Or is it the small (probably faulty) difference:
Microsoft Update catalogue: usb\vid_0a5c&pid_5800&rev_0101&mi_00
Device Manager \ device instance path: usb\vid_0a5c&pid_5800&&mi_00
