Hi,
I recently came across a BIOS for a Dell E4300 (GS45 based) laptop. The interesting thing is this unit was an sku for the Hong Kong market and inside the RAM trapdoor is yellow sticker that says "ME disabled". I extracted a copy of the entire SPI flash rom using an external reader and when I run ME Analyzer (v182, db r77) it says "Found unidentifiable Intel Engine Firmware." and "Please report this issue!", this this post.
I have little experience with ME but the img looks like it has vectors at $0ec0,c8,d0, etc to $0eff. There is some bytes at $1000 that might not represent a GbE region, but I am really not sure.
My question is, is there a way for me to verify this is genuinely interesting, and if so, to post an extract without exposing the MAC or service tag?
Thanks,
@dhke43
I am not sure of what you are trying to achieve. Do you want to enable the ME? Is the first DIMM slot not populated and is there a sticker at its place?
