you need add SPI chip for amdvbflash
by default vbios is embedded in main bios, use mmtool to dump/replace

I extracted the bios and messed around with TDP and TCP (a) or wtv it is that has a (a) and did a reflash but i couldnt get it past 40w and the gpu clock I changed did not go into effect (I didnt reinstall driver would this be required?) I was looking into your older posts for info and saw you got like 100w out of this gpu which is crazy for a 35w laptop gpu could you help me get it higher but definitely not 100w, And finally did you straight up replace the og bios with a desktop one?
These are my settings that I attempted to adjust (only touched powertune, powerplay, and GPU freq)
there are more TDC/TDP values in powerplay table that i have modified manually because PBE donāt show them. donāt remember if they are required and which ones if yes.
on win7 it didnāt need driver reinstall but i donāt know about win10
i did not replace the bios i modified this one. maybe you also need to adjust voltage profiling table
use furmark to test as it is known to load the GPU to its max
Yeah litteraly MAX ive heard the horror stories about furmark
opened it and I see that my core clock sits at a 900mhz but my gpu has so much headroom for cooling and the memory never throttles down
im using k15tk as well so it shouldnt be this bad especially as the cpu is the one getting hot and not the gpu, I saw you were looking into the apu bios as well which could help or even fix the cpu slowly raising in temp
After 5-10 minutes cpu throttles from 92-82 but little throttling because of k15tk undervolt
I was thinking about replacing the thermal pads with k5 pro idrk how well that could go
okay I benched the ā560ā for around 40 minutes and it sits at a max of 75-72 so it can definetly still be tuned even with cpu throttling
that does not work. it seems to undervolt only one type of voltage, iām assuming C6 which mostly active in idle state. under real CPU load another voltage levels are used that cannot be modified
your CPU temp is too high. new laptop had CPU around 60C after half a year of use thermal compound dried out and it went to 80-90C
i started using liquid metal and when properly applied CPU will stay below 70C even with extreme GPU OC
RX560 is still throttled there, just about the same core clock as i had with it in the beginning, slightly under 900Mhz. whatever you did with the vbios didnāt have effect for some reason.
also forget the horror stories, they probably relate to poorly designed cards 10y ago or olderā¦
Oh i know im not scared of a benchmarking program it was funny watching cards blow up though idrk if it was ever true
Ive been trying to look for amdmsrtweaker and that has been impossible as every link is dead but this also looks interesting, especially as it cant effect the low P states only ones after 16 maybe it could be possible to run both k15tk and this efi boot at the same time to get a undervolt??
i tried to do a modification of amdmsrtweaker but it isnāt much of use. iāve seen something similar to efi undervolt too, might be worth checking
can you check something else? boot from USB ubuntu 24.04 and run this command in terminal
DRI_PRIME=1 AMD_DEBUG=info firefox -B
it will list long output, iām interested in Shader core info: cu_mask[SE0][SA0] cu_mask[SE1][SA0] values
