I’m.Unable to install windows vista (my laser printer doest support win7 or higher)on latest intel B250M chipset (intel i5 processor 7th gen)
I have set AHCI mode in bios but during setup my vista doesn’t detect hard-disk… I have the impression that I need some driver workaround as I did it earlier on different chipset with integrating text mode driver in Windows XP setup with ur help.I was successful. But this time I need ur help to install windows vista on B250M chipate…Please help me.
@nitin_jindal :
You will not be happy with the installation of Vista onto your Intel 200-Series chipset system (even if you should finally succeed), because nearly all your on-board devices will not properly work with such outdated OS.
If you really insist to use MS Vista as OS for your modern PC, I suggest to set the Intel SATA Controller to "IDE" within the BIOS before you start with the OS installation.
Dear sir, I just need to to install printer driver only…I don’t need other onboard device drivers…Pls help
@nitin_jindal :
I cannot help you with a driver for your laser printer.
If you just need a driver for the printer and no other ones, why did you ask me for a modded Intel AHCI driver?
To get an old OS installed onto your modern system, you may need an appropriate storage driver and not a printer one.
oops…u r not getting my point sir…i just want to install windows vista on intel b250m chipset…thats all…right now im unablew to install vista because its not detecting my sata harddisk in windows setup …pls guide me so that i can install windows vista…

I understood you quite well, but it was you, who has written, that you just need the printer driver and no driver for your various Intel 200-Chipset onboard devices. Is the Intel SATA AHCI Controller not one of them?
To make it short: I cannot help you.
Instead of bothering me in the middle of the night with your urgent demand for a modded Intel AHCI driver, you would have gotten Vista installed and your laser printer already working by disabling the "AHCI" option of your on-board Intel SATA Controller within the BIOS.
If you want to get the benefits of a modern PC, you should not install Vista. I bet, that the performance loss by running the OS Vista in IDE (instead of AHCI) mode will not be noticeable by you.
There is no option in bios for IDE mode. I have checked it before seeking help…Thanks for your reply…
@nitin_jindal :
If you should not be able to get/find a Win10 supporting driver for your laser pointer, I recommend to buy a new or second-hand printer, which is usable with modern Windows Operating Systems.
Reason: The printer driver situation will not become better with each upcoming new Windows OS.
By the way - which are the HardwareIDs of your on-board Intel SATA AHCI Controller?
