Dump bios from Asus B760 MB with flashrom and write back?

Hello,
in the past on a chinese motherboard I have dumped rom file and modified and written it back with flashrom -p internal. I.e. I did it in software no physical programmer.

Is this possible on Asus motherboards aswell or are there protective meassures? I know Asus use cap files, but I assume these contains a rom which is written and is what actually end up in the bios?

(Don’t know much about cap files)

CAP bios files are CAPSULATED AMI Aptio bios images, in Intel boards the extracted image can be done with the UEFItool or header removed with an Hex editor, resulting in the know “ROM/BIN”

About flashrom on modern mb cant confirm it… so wait for another user.
