Enabling USAP On Asus Sabertooth X99 (+SATA III Speeds)

Hello all!
It’s been a while since I’ve been on. I recently had some issues with my system, so I did a clean install and update with Driver Booster 10.6. Everything looks good, but I cannot get Asus AI Suite (II OR III) to run without crashing when it’s launched - it’s fine sitting in the system tray. However, there are a couple of issues that are … odd.

  1. I do not see the separate SATA interfaces in Device Manager - I tried installing the ASMedia SATA III v3.5.5 drivers, and they installed with no issue, but I still see nothing in Device Manager.
  2. I cannot get the USB USAP drivers installed - the driver IS on my system, but it is NOT the one either the ASMedia USB ports or the Intel USB ports are using (thus my desire for AISuite & USB Boost). I have also tried using the command - sc config UASPStor start= demand which runs successfully, but doesn’t seem to do anything.

I started looking into things when I noticed that even my SATA III 6gb connections (7200rpm HDDs) were having slow transfers (~50-60MB/s) instead of what they should be.

CrystalDiskInfo shows the SATA II drives as Serial ATA SATA 600 / SATA 600, and the USB drives as USB (Serial ATA) SATA 300 / SATA 600

So, the system IS using the MCCI driver, and I can confirm that U3BoostSvr64 is actually running on the system, however CrystalDiskInfo does not indicate that I am getting full speed - still just USB (Serial ATA) SATA 300 / SATA 600.

I tried running the EXEs in the package in every possible Compatibility Mode, and they all failed every time - either they flashed & did nothing, or I receive the message “The model does not support this application” :frowning:

Ok, so after doing a clean install of Win10 x64 Enterprise, my devices are again showing more “as expected” - meaning the SATA bridges are showing as IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers. Interestingly, while I only have the WD eastStore drives to check the USAP on (the Rosewill enclosures are too old, I believe - the only show the SATA 300 speed and Standard as ATA8-ACS | ----) - CrystalDiskInfo does not display the UASP for the USB, but just USB - however, the SPEEDS are shown as SATA 600 & the Standard as ACS-4 | ACS-4 published, ANSI INCITS 529-2018. So that is interesting. Also, the driver for the ASMedia USB Root Hub is v1.16.35.1, USB3.1 eXtensible is 1.16.35.1, the Generic SuperSpeed USB Hub is MS v10.0.19041.3208, Intel C610 series/X99 chipset USB Enhanced Host Controller is v10.1.1.38, Intel USB3.0 eXtensible is v10.0.19041.3031.

NOT sure if I should or should NOT have the Power Mgt option ENABLED or DISABLED - have read articles advising on both.

(Yes, i know I DO need to update the ASMedia USB to v1.16.61.1 - not sure what the Intel version should be).
