Hi,
I have Asus N61JA laptop. It was changed to Windows 7 Ultimate from Windows 7 Home premium (original OS) by a friend of my hubby without my consent. I have a recovery disk which i prepare maybe 2yrs ago already. I used it to restore my laptop to its original OS. After that, i have installed Autocad2014 but it requires .NET Framework 4. I install that. then i try to install Avast, but it took several minutes to open its starting point so what i did, i press long the turn-off button to shut it down. Its About 1AM last night my laptop lost the internet connection (Wifi/Bluetooth) after i reboot it. I attempted to run the networking troubleshooter and got the following message -
"An error occurred while troubleshooting"
"A problem is preventing the troubleshooter from starting"
Package ID: Unknown
Path: C:\Windows\diagnostics\system\networking
Error code: 0x8E5E0247
Source: Engine
User: Jhen-PC\xxxx
Context: Restricted
and have been unable to get the troubleshooter working since. I tried to restore it again with the same recovery which i have but that did not fix the internet issue or troubleshooter. I manage to open the Bluetooth, but WLAN still turned off.
thanks,
jhen

Welcome at Win-RAID Forum!
This is what I would do if I were you:
1. Backup your most important data.
2. Download the latest original MS ISO file containing the image of your on-board 32/64bit Win7 Home Premium Edtion OS (incl. SP1) with your desired language.
3. Create a bootable DVD/USB flash drive with the Win7 image.
4. Boot off the DVD/USB flash drive, delete all partitions and do a fresh OS installation by using your legit Win7 Key.

Fernando
hi,
its just i dont have that much knowledge on doing such things. im afraid, i might do a mistake.
i have downloaded win7 home premium, 64bit. but didnt try to use this.
is this enough?..i will make a bootable usb to use for this.
This will be enough to get Win7 x64 installed.
If there are more than 1 SSD/HDD within your laptop, you should only clean the drive, where your current OS is installed. This way you will keep the data, which are on the other disks.
Additionally I recommend to download and store the most important Win7 x64 drivers, especially the WLAN and Bluetooth ones. You can get them >here<.
Yes, it is very easy with the Microsoft Win7 USB-DVD Tool.
