Hi @plutomaniac I’m new in this Forum and would like some help. How do you EXTRACTED Lenovo .EXE BIOS (Yoga 2 Pro) file? Already tried with 7-zip, UniversalExtractor and PhoenixTool but without success. Please let me know what is the correct tool and steps to do it. Regards,
Thanks for your reply @wanglei52076 But I really would like to know how to do it. Anyone with this expertise could teach us what’s the correct App/Tool and steps? @plutomaniac Regards,
To extract the executable you can use UniExtract by koros. The included ROM file is an Insyde container so you must not flash it directly with a programmer or general flasher such as Intel Flash Programming Tool, flashrom etc. With a little know-how you can extract the important/useful components manually (BIOS, EC) but maybe you can find some script/tool online which does that automatically? Maybe Insyde’s own flasher has such an option, I don’t know.
Thank you so much for replying @plutomaniac Maybe extracting the BIOS (.EXE) isn’t the answer to what I’m looking for. I would like to update the BIOS (Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro - 20266), Intel Core i7 4500U Haswell, with the Spectre Fix of Intel’s microcode. dat file. Could you recommend the best way for this?
Your questions had nothing to do with the original thread so they got split into a new one. As for your question, wait for Lenovo to release a BIOS update for the CPU vulnerabilities. They will surely do so when it is ready.
