HI everyone ,I am currently struggling to extract the firmware from XMC25QH64 chip using ch341 black version. When I connect only the programmer to my laptop and checking using command lsusb it shows but when I connect the 8 pin clipper to the chip, it disappears and says “couldn’t open device”. Can anyone help me please.
In linux I tried flashrom programm and in windows i tried all kinds of drives and different versions of AsProgrammer and NeoProgrammer.
The chip is 3.3V and I am thinking maybe there is a problem with the voltage?
Usually the Black is (341A)…
4 chances…old Black CH341A that needs voltage mod (unlikely on latest ones), incorrect connection (wrong pins/shorted, common difficulty for new users), broken CH341A or needs to desolder the IC from main PCB.
Usually, a short on pins connection will make the 2 leds lit…this is wrong, the 2nd led only lit when read/writing.
Some laptops need main battery on/off and /or PSU standby on/off (fewer models and LAST resource, at your own risk), safer instead of this option is desolder the IC.
Can I use the version that can select the voltage (1.8V, 3.3V, 5V) same as the black version. And after desoldering the chip can I put it back and will it still work. It is a board provided from our schoold xd.
