To stop Windows from updating the microcode, you’ll need to rename or delete one of the following files (after taking ownership):

C:\Windows\System32\mcupdate_AuthenticAMD.dll -> for AMD CPUs
C:\Windows\System32\mcupdate_GenuineIntel.dll -> for Intel CPUs

This needs to be redone after every big update ( 1809 -> 1903 etc.).

Awesome thanks. I did have it at one time but seem to have misplaced it. Might not be noticeable in games but I did notice a drop in benchmarks.

The FDN version was not officially released on the gigabyte website as it did not go through the quality testing procedures or something, and was only available if you asked support, I’m quite sure it was to add NVME and to fix some issue with the SATA ports numbering between RAID, SATA and IDE as I don’t think they match the silk screen on the PCB or were mixed up, there was also some issues with a Samsung SSD and when mixed with a mech HDD on ports 1-4 causing micro lockups in windows and repeated bus resets.

I have attached the FDN bios version with all the latest OP ROMS with out the spectre fixes I believe.

Of note I opened the rev 4.1 motherboard’s bios just to have a look and the processorintprelim in in both unmodded bioses are identical and it could be patched in to that bios and possibly all the other bioses in the gigabyte ga-990fxa ud3 range.

one would just need to replace their processorintprelim with my modified one.

Is this UEFI Bios for ga-990fxa ud3, 3 or 4 revision of mobo?
