Hi, this is my 1st post here. Found a new amd ahci driver on the gigabyte website. It’s version 1.3.1.156 for windows 8 and 8.1.

choose windows 8 or 8.1 (32 or 64 bit) from thr list once you get to the page.

The AMD AHCI drivers v1.3.1.156 for Windows 8/8.1 are dated 09/18/2013 and not as new as you thought.
Within the start post of this thread I am offering since several months the much newer 32/64bit AMD AHCI drivers for Win8/8.1 v1.3.1.220 dated 03/21/2014.
Nevertheless I want to thank you for the info.
