GA-MA69VM-S2 too old to mod?

I own the motherboard in object that run with a phenom II x4 955 95w

With current official bios, F10E support AGESA 3.3.2.7 cpu that should be updated with last one: 3.7.1.2 in order to support phenom x6 cpu

And this is the problem, as know Gigabyte motherboard are trickly to mod due to the sensitive modules like MEMINT; HT; HT32GATE that are at the end of the structure, updating AGESA module from 3.3.2.7 to 3.7.1.2 the dimension of the newest one is bigger and this require a “fake” module to put in the space where the old agesa was that should have same dimension of the old agesa.

Fortunately i found on this forum a thread where an already modded bios exist:
Gigabyte GA-MA69vm-S2 Bios F10e - AMD Phenom II X4 955 95w

The version mod2b in attach have both AGESA and ncpucode updated to last version with fake module insert where the old AGESA was.
I tryed to update the raid rom module to 3.2.1540.6 but the dimension of the new raid rom is bigger than the old one, the only solution that I found is to indtroduce the new raid rom then reduce the dimension of fake module but I don’t know how to size it correctly.

This is very difficult for me, for this reason I want to ask is the only way to proceed or is there an easier way?
If the way that I described is the only one, could someone help me?

Thanks

Little update

Updated the structure of bios following

Agesa updated from 3.3.2.7 to 3.7.1.2
NCPUCODE updated to CPUID:100F20 PatchID:010000CA 31/3/2010
Qflash utility updated to 2.24
AMD AHCI rom updated to 3.2.154.6

Deleted logo due space issue and added dummy module in order to keep the structure flashable.

At this point I should have finished with this old piece of history but I read in another forum that also memint module contain refer to agesa, I check it and found refeer to old agesa code 3.3.2.7, at this point the question is, do the memint module have to be changed with a new one with the same agesa code or no?

And if i change the memint module with a different one could it work considering that is a "sensitive module"?

All nice questions…

Thanks to everyone could help

Test without touching Meminit and see if your edits work OK or not. If not, then yes you may need to swap in some updated MemInit, which you can only get from this model so without Gigabyte doing I doubt you can do this, putting in Meminit from other BIOS would most likely brick

@Lost_N_BIOS
Thanks for your help
As we discussed in this thread seems that not is mandatory update memint module in order to allow other cpu to work with system
As you know my mod attempt failed and was forced to restore last original bios from Gigabyte.
At this point i don’t know how to proceed to update
If I attach all modules for upgrade and original bios can you help me?

Thanks

@vash_85 - I only know about updating CPU microcodes. If you have some module you want swapped, but don’t know how, I can probably do that for you, but it’s not something I can advise about (other than common roms like RAID/AHCI/LAN etc)

@Lost_N_BIOS
Thanks for your answer

The mod that should be done on this bios are:
1)Update cpu microcodes
2)Update agesa to 3.7.1.2
3)Update raid rom to 3.2.1540.6 , the one that is included with last release of the bios not is compatible with win 10
4)optional update q-flash utility to 2.24

As i reported on first post in this forum exist a thread where the bios of this MB was already modified with updated cpu codes and last agesa:
Gigabyte GA-MA69vm-S2 Bios F10e - AMD Phenom II X4 955 95w

In the file attached are:

Original mb bios: MA69VMS2.10e
Lordkag moded bios with updated agesa and updated microcode that as reported should work: MA69VMS2-mod2b.10e
Last agesa 3.7.1.2: AGESACPU.ROM
Q-flash2.24: QFlash 2.24
Last raid rom: AMD_RAID-ROM_DEV-4380_v3.2.1540.6

Do you believe it is possible to update all?

Thanks for your help

@vash_85 - I can update microcode and RAID. Qflash should not be updated unless you have flash programmer to recover, not all Qflash is compatible with all boards, so the one I know of may not work in your board (The one mentioned in those mod notes is same I meant)
“Should work” and tested working are two different things. Test that BIOS and then if it works I can update RAID for you if you need something other than what’s in there…

I would not test that if I were you, due to the Qflash update, unless you have programmer.
Seems it may be OK, but he did not comment on if Qflash worked, but generally it looked like all BIOS 1a, 2b, 3c all were fail for what he wanted in that thread (CPU-wise), so if same you want, it’s not a working mod BIOS.
It’s also not stated if he was even using Qflash, or had a programmer in hand, so be very careful what you try, or wait until you have programmer and BIOS backed up and checked by someone to confirm OK dump via programmer.

@Lost_N_BIOS
I think that the user in other thread had problem is why he used a 125w tdp cpu, the alimention section of this motherboard is able to manage only 95w tdp cpu.
Btw, you think that is possible update also agesa module in order to try to test 95w tdp Phenom x6?
if q-flash module could be a problem update it not is mandatory.
Thanks

@ReDSkuLL Hi sir, can you share your modded Bios? I found only old broken links . Thx

@Miquim
To whom you are addressing to? The users Lost and Lordkag are no longer active members of this forum and probably many others from this tread. Some links are available only outside personal forum links cant be recovered. Using @username will notify the desired user.

@MeatWar Thanx, I was refering to the last post, actually im searching for an very old modded Bios ga-ma69vm-s2 with NB/cpu voltage options etc …enabled, and I found about six download broken links and one corrupt zip file on internet. I’ve an old Phenom II x4 945 and i’ve only two options 1.34v and 1.55v pinmod, and could OC It to 3,42Ghz on 1.34v … On idle without pinmod, stock 3Ghz…CPUZ shows 1.29v… :+1:
