Hello,
My system has a Gigabyte motherboard with the H57 Intel chipset. I have the latest version of the BIOS released but still the RST ROM is just version 9.5.0.1037. No overclocking. Windows Pro 32-bit version 1607. I am using Intel RST driver and software version 14.8.0.1032. The SATA controller is set in RAID mode and the system only have two 1T disks in RAID 1 (boot volume). Originally the system had Windows 7 32-bit (worked fine). I had a number of problems upgrading to Windows 10, and now the upgrade from 1507 to the Creators update has already failed several times (BOD just at the final boot - IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUALL). Also at some point I started having an issue in Windows 10: rename or cut&paste files sometimes hangs (not sure what was the last change before this problem started). I am guessing that the problems may be caused by issues between Intel RST software / Windows 10 / my motherboard chipset (Intel supports tells me that H57 chipset is not supported with Windows 10).
I read that you recommend driver 11.2.0.1006 or 12.9.4.1000 for systems with the 5 series chipset. Any preference between these 2 for my system? Stability is more important for me than performance but I don’t want to have to re-install OS or risk the content of the RAID 1 vol. At some point I thought about changing SATA from RAID to AHCI and using mirroring with Windows rather than Intel RST but after the change the system couldn’t boot until I switched it back to RAID.
Thanks
