hello hive…
running an UD3 with modded F20.4 bios (nvme boot).
i have problems with 8 or 16gb ddr3 modules, the computer keep in a bootloop when i insert the modules, even i try just one of them. running 4x4gb ddr3 modules is fine…
is there any bios mod to run bigger modules?
It should run 32Gb…the main issue sometimes is the quality/density/modules used, ignoring the original QVL as being an old one from 2012.
Assuming modules tested pair by pair and tested all dimm slots…
Theres also a non-public bios for this model F21e…search for it, don’t ask what is corrected or done in it.
yes, i tested all modules. working just fine in my mac pro 6,1 or a chinese x79 board. label for the 8gig modules shows: 8GB 2Rx4 PC3L-10600R (if it helps)…
8GB 2Rx4 PC3L-10600R (if it helps)
No…it’s not enough but i’m not the one who’s going to research it.
Registered RAM…don’t think so on this mb model, for Mac its ok and Chinese…we all know their “inventions”
Non ECC…
i thought the controller just ignore the ecc function…
Yes, that maybe, but Registered makes the difference here
i agree, registered is the magic key…just tried the 4gb dimms inside of the mac and it reports ddr3 ecc.
