sorry for the late response, i got ill and had no time to try further.
My version that i thought “was stuck” got into Bios while i let it run ~10 minutes “post”, ~10 minutes “bios blue (load)”, each screen refresh takes ~20 seconds! The system runs, but slow as fuck… is this a known problem and does a fix exist? D3417-A2_slow.zip (5.5 MB)

You’re doing everything right. Looks like a problem with ME. Try changing from Consumer to Corporate cropped and compressed (1.5 Mb). And play around with on/off ME. Your Xeon 0x906ED must work!!! UPD. @BazzT, sorry, you have already Corporate ME. Now, only try OFF ME.
no success by switching ME Versions and on/off… still slow as hell. If i switch the CPU to G4400 it is running in normal speed.
Might this information causes the problem.

About OROM VBIOS. This module for CSM mode only. For UEFI mode - GOP driver. You can have problem with VBT, Video BIOS Table, video output. As for GOP, as for VBIOS. Fujitsu!!!

Could it be the “slow” cpu speed?

My Mainboard is only build t support 80W CPUs is it possible that it detects an higher capable CPU and is restricting everything? Wanted to restrict the power draw in the bios to run the CPU.
Ive mesured continuity of the copper tape at the beginning but it seems it is not longer there.
Now i have solderes the connection! Ugly but reliable.
I saw a diagram of the SKTOCC just goes into a logic circuit. There will be no power on if circuit is not pulled low. (I soldered a small wire to ground at test point of pin 102 of my Nuvoton chip).
I took a BIOS from a success post on here Finished Z270 Killer SLI/ac Coffeelake mod . Used Coffeetime to inject my MAC and update some of the patches, then flashed on my ASRock Z270 Killer/AC. Now stable with i7 8700.
I used a Pi Pico W board with a serprog .uf2 and a windows version of the flashrom utility. It’s a lot slower than the CH341A, but I feel like it’s also a lot more stable and safer. I just used jumper wires to connect it to the clip adaptor for my blown up CH341A.
It will only boot with 2400 or slower RAM. I was able to get some Patriot JEDEC 2133/XMP 3200 ram to work, I enabled XMP 2.0, set speed to 2666, and timing 16 16 16 32 (instead of 16 18 18 36). Oddly enough with my fiddling I lost my all-core enhancement 4.5ghz, but I set 125/179W power and CPU-Z is showing faster all-core than an 8700K! (According to the built in comparison tool). I’m only drawing 100w on old Throttlestop doing the built in 64MB stress test.
Pretty happy with the result. Saved a used i7 and an old motherboard in one go.
I got it to boot on a Pentium G5400T. I didn’t mask the 2 pins, just let them burn. Then pushed what was left down into the socket so it couldn’t touch any other pins. Now I don’t have to mask or connect any pins to swap processors again!

I dumped the M1A bios (from 2017) and modified it with CoffeeTime v0.99. Patched and fixed all the options, updated to ME 11.8 Corporate, VBIOS to 1062, GOP to 9.0.1107, Microcode to revision EA.
Previously used 2x16GB Samsung DDR4 2400Mhz (Lenovo FRU 01FR302)
Trying to use 2x32GB Team Group DDR4 3200Mhz (TED432G3200C22-SBK)
Running 2x32 will boot to OS but shuts down unexpectedly. I thought the frequency might been too high (CPU supports up tp 128GB and 2933Mhz). I had to mod the BIOS to unlock the CRB Menu and lowered the frequency to 2400Mhz. Still no dice. I tested running each module separately and they work.
My question is if there is any BIOS option that I can try before giving up. Or should I just give up?

If i mod my msi z270 a pro with this coffe time mod, i can still use my i5 6500? and also i know from an old article that the z170 can be mod to overclock non k cpu, with this mod can i achived OC with this i5 6500 non K, i understand that the whole mod thing is to use a better cpu but while i wait for the new cpu arrive i just want to know if some OC is capable with this mod and this non k cpu. The m910X can deliver 65w of tdp, beyond that they will overheat.
Freom my experience, and i have tested a lot of tiny’s you should lower the RAM speed to 2133, it’s not a cpu limitation, its a board limitation, the board can only handle 2133 if 2 modules are used.
Also, use only the 1.52 bios version, it’s the most compatible one

I’ve got a Fujitsu D3401-A1 (Q150) flashed to D3401-B2 (which supports Kaby Lake) on which I’ve run Coffeetime and it works perfectly except for a weird issue i’m having with the PCIe x16 slot.
With a B0 CPU (i3 8300) it works no problems
With a P0 CPU (G5400 for now) the x16 slot does not work.
On the G5400 i’ve taped all the pins shown in the well-known picture except for the lone purple “Biostar” pin in the upper right. SKTOCC is already grounded on the Super-IO side (but if that was the issue the machine wouldn’t boot at all)
On Coffeetime I’ve enabled (among others) both the PCIe and the PCIe 1440 patch.
(May be worth noting that the “clean” unmodified BIOS already shows a yellow “PCIe” patch.
I have also tried running the bios through the older patcher (allinone.exe) with no change.
The G5400 is a “disposable” CPU for test only, my plan for this machine is to run a QTJ2 mutant that’s already on the way from China (I may have ordered it before testing the PCIe fully). Could it be, so to speak, a pinout problem, given that the B0 works and the one that needs pinmods doesn’t, and so could I hope for the 1440-to-1151 to just work?
In any case I’ll attach both an unmodified dump and what I’m currently running.

And the current status is that the system starts and keeps with black screen and fans spinning from mid to high (2 seconds on mid, 2 on high and repeat)
Any idea what I am doing wrong? I’ve tested the board with my old 6600k and it works
