@CodeRush
I don’t think I need it =)
Just broke my mobo. Reverted to old bios -> modded it and ran /gan. After this monitor doesn’t seem to be working. And no respond from keyboard or mouse (lights)
Hehe =)
Still need one, because now your BIOS is bricked and you want to restore it somehow, which can be easily done with SPI programmer.
can this method on this link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hk74-2xA7tI&t=34s be good for fleshing up the modified bios that I would use to insert the nvme module NvmExpressDxe 3.ffs into the original bios in ez flash mode it can not, because when loading a modified bios file, it evokes me error securiti verification failed or there is another way to flush bios my board is asus h81m-r
@boketa979
why not just use NvmExpressDXE_2.ffs
As stated previously, you cannot use EZ-Flash. If you’re luck and have a Flashback port, you could do that.
AFUDOS Version 3.06.01 seems to have /GAN switch function as stated earlier.
I believe the /GAN function no longer works on the newer boards regardless of using the 3.06.01 version.
Has there been any progress on the preferred method to flash BIOS in non-flashback ASUS system?
please help to flash moded bios on asus Z170-A
So how can we succeed in flicking a modified bios, say, on my h81m-r whether it’s an older or a new board I have a mod bios and afudos on usb contact, and now after your answers, I’m afraid to flush with 3.06.01 so I would not accidentally it destroyed the bios, although the cold rush wrote about some kind of backup, but I do not understand what it was that wanted to do, and if it was possible to protect some kind of bios if it was not to blush with afudos
ErfanDL:
I have moved your post into this thread, because your problem has nothing to do with the UBU tool.
and a little before I tried to flush my asus h81m-r panel and typing afudos mod bios. / GAN and throwing out the text unknown comand and it remains MAIN QUESTION how to succeed on asus plates insert flashing modified bios to support nvme ssd is not a problem to make such a bios already HOW TO FLASH it Tell us whether there is a solution and which is either to stop tilting more and throw asus plates and turn to newer or gigabytes or msi
hi guys I have a MAXIMUS VIII HERO Z170 can you tell me which version of afudos works? I tried using the 3.07 to backup the bios and tells me to switch to APTIO V
@deltazor :
All mainboards with a modern Intel chipset from 100-Series up have an AMI Aptio V BIOS.
Did you even read the start post of this thread?
The first point of the guide contains a link to the latest AFU tools. Download and unzip the package. Then you will find the latest AFU tools for AptioV.
@ErfanDL :
Since I am not an expert regarding the usage of the AFU tools, I cannot help you personally.
Please read CodeRush’s guide (= start post of this thread) carefully. If you have additional questions, you should post them into this thread.
This is the best way to get help resp. useful answers.
Hi, but are you referring to this link? https://ami.com/en/download-license-agre…ate_Utility.zip
for dos there is no AFU and present only for uefi and win
You obviously have not even unzipped the package and looked into its content.
Within the folder named “AMIBIOS” is the subfolder “AFUDOS”.
Hello and thank you for your patience if I understood correctly in the folders you say is 8.00.15_AFUDOS_4.40 which dates back to Release Date 2011 / Dec / 05 works with the 100 series intel chipset?
You can use this tool only from within a bootable USB 2.0 flash drive containing the OS DOS.
This will work for all old and modern PCs.
Here’s another question: I came to the fact that I tried on my board with afudos and with the GAN command it started to blink and suddenly I was thrown out by the message “file volume do not match with the existing size” so something I do not know now would you help me to delete the dxe modules for flax boot or to try with this module for the Chinese language, but I can not find it and how they are deleted
message is “rom file size does not match existing bios size” with GAN comand please explain what this message means and what I should change because I do not know what to do next to this problem. I think I’m on the right way to flesh bios, but that little thing makes me the real problem.Size of that bios is 8.194 kb please help.
@boketa979 :
The modded BIOS must have the exactly same size as the original BIOS.
What have you modified and how did you do it?
