[HELP] Lenovo E580 Borked update

Hi, my e580 bricked during an update a month after warranty ran out I tried a few things here and there but a year has gone buy and still just an expensive paper weight.
It doesn’t boot or do anything besides the power light being on unless I unplug the battery and remove the ac power. As soon as I plug the internal battery or the ac power the power button turns on straight away but no fans or anything else at all.
I have tried holding down power button, unplugging the cmos battery reprogramming with CH341 programmer with 2 different programs and this file (https://www.alisaler.com/lenovo-e480-e58…21-rev1-0-bios/ which matches my laptop mobo) and even trying Wincrisis on usb with bios.wph from the latest bios (renaming the .FL1 file to .wph) with fn+r and then fn+b.

I can’t get the laptop to show any other symptom other than the power light turning on, on it’s own as soon as it gets power from either battery or ac I also dont know where my original backup from the bios chip is since the last time i tried to trouble shoot this was a year ago.

Any help would be appreciated to so I don’t have an £800 brick at home for another year.

@Jagged - Please find and send me the dumped BIOS you made before you erased or programmed anything to the chip. What is the BIOS chip ID, and what software and version did you make the dump with, and same for your current write - with what software/version?
Please also link me to the stock BIOS download page for this system.

The BIOS you linked should be bootable, so probably you are not getting a good write to the chip. Give me the chip ID and I will tell you what may be best to use to try again.

Thank you for replying, the original Bios were lost unfortunately as I last tried to fix/re-program this laptop over a year ago and have since re-installed windows on my main pc.
Here is the link to what was on there last (I doubt I put the original back on before I gave up but who knows): http://www.mediafire.com/file/dyr5lqzhuf…backup.bin/file

This is what is written on the chip Winbond 25Q64JVSIQ and then 1801.
I tried 2 programs CH341A Programmer 1.18 and AsProgrammer 1.4.1
Here is a picture of what it detected before I did anything and I used the same W25Q64BV with AsProgrammer https://imgur.com/a/PNg5BL1
Here is the link to the latest bios https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/produ…ame=BIOS%2FUEFI

For W26Q64JV you need to use software 1.30 and W25Q64BV ID
Software 1.30 is included here - http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?fil…213094641136166

This BIOS Package contains two BIOS images for different systems, so not good you do not have original backup.
That may be why the alisaler BIOS is failing for you, wrong BIOS for this exact model, or you just need to use the info I mentioned above.

Before you do anything further with programmer, it may be good to try this method if you have not already
https://bibanon.org/Phoenix_BIOS_Crisis_Recovery
https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/SL-Series-T…ery/td-p/912391

Or, first, try the Alisaler BIOS again, but write it using the info I gave you above.
This is hex match to the backup.bin you sent above, when did you dump this and what software/version did you dump it with?

I tried the Crisis recovery again and then flashed the Alisaler BIOS as well but with the 1.30 tool but still no change. I plug the battery back in the only thing that happens is the power light turns on.

I don’t know which version of the tool I used in the past but I do remember that I didn’t get a pop up asking which chip id I wanted to use when detecting so definitely not the 1.30 most likely an older version.

I managed to find some bios files in a backup I had done previously so the original will probably be the one called 1stRead I bundled the others i had in the same folder as well if you could please have a look and see if these help I also had the CH341A_Tools and another tool CH341A Mini Programmer (Black Edition) By_NSC which showed v1.18 in the same folder.
