I’ve had to replace a failed LA-8862P REV 2.0 motherboard on a Samsung NP350V laptop with i5 CPU.
The NP350V LA-8862P mobo I purchased was delivered with a Pentium B970 CPU and MEInfo reports all is well. The problem arises when I use my i5 CPU. MEInfo the states:
Error 86: Communication error between application and Intel(R) ME module (FWU client)
Error 81: Internal error (Could not determine FW features information) … Suffering 30 minuite shutdown.
My knowledge of the intel ME is only hours old and I don’t know how or if this is correctable. It’s the same LA-8862P REV 2.0 motherboard but this one refuses to work with ME when my i5 on it.
I’ve actually purchased 3 other boards that were running Pentium and had the same outcome. I did buy one with an i3 on it and that was fine but had to be returned as it would not run on battery.
I will try to attach a MEInfo screenshot with the Pentium in.
