Since then, I’ve tried several methods to restore the BIOS, including using BIOS recovery mode and rebuilding the BIOS with instructions meant for other Fujitsu Esprimo models. However, I’ve found very little information specific to the G558, and my attempts have been unsuccessful. I also reached out to someone who had successfully unlocked Legacy Boot on this model, but I haven’t received a response.
I would greatly appreciate any guidance or suggestions you might have to help me restore my computer to a working state. If it’s possible to also get Legacy Boot working, that would be fantastic!
Thank you so much for your time and assistance. Any help would be deeply appreciated!
Since the system doesnt boot anymore, you should consider getting an SPI programmer, as it may be the remaining option, since you tried already several recovery options.
A quick search leads to this pdf and a D3654 motherboard, that needs further analysis for SPI IC locations (seems to be under the populated M.2 slot), as you may know already.
Wait for other users contributions, good luck.
Thank you for the recommendation. I already have an SPI programmer and used it to create the BIOS dump I attached earlier. Unfortunately, the BIOS has built-in protection, and any modification, even a single character, results in the system being bricked. Therefore, the only way to unlock Legacy Boot is through setup_var. I’ve attached a screenshot that explains this.
Sorry, but i’m not interested in in your bios modification… it seems that some one advised not to touch the SPi and flash any mods… in hackintosh forum? (vit96 and Vandr) these guys know what they talk about.
I don’t know what you did but the last three copies of setup in NVRAM didn’t look too good, there wasn’t a single variable changed but the whole file was reduced to a quite weird pattern of 00 and 01.
